Wohoo one more day til Friday. I woke up better this morning. Hubby gave me a ride to work and car should be fixed today. Stupid fuel pump.
Re: Thursday Randoms
I need to get some better sleep.
I'm almost done with The Hunger Games. Once again I have to thank you all for bringing the title up. After this series is done I'll move on to The Book Thief.
Hunger Games never interested me, but I've had a(n unread) copy of The Book Thief since I found it on clearance at TJMaxx (I know!) last year. It keeps getting bumped on my to-read list.
I love running clothes. That's pretty much all I buy anymore. Currently trying to talk myself out of a fifth pair of admittedly-overpriced lululemons...
We're hanging out on the east side today. My nephews just got here and the 5-year-old has already told me to be quiet several times.

Cute story....
Brian's mom got a digital camera a few weeks ago. She told me that the camera holds 100 pictures and that she is going to have to take a lot of pictures if she ever wants to see them developed. I had to explain to her that she can get the pictures developed at any time. It wasn't like a roll of film that you had to wait until it was complete.
What? I hope you put that 5 year old down a few rungs on the "in charge ladder."
I'm baking today for the anniversary party. Banana bread, zucchini bread, and my great-grandma Lynch's Coffee cake. Jim bought 40 lb bags of flower and sugar for me at Sams yesterday. I'm a little intimidated by them, but know I'll probably use it all up by the end of tomorrow.
Wow! 40 lbs is a lot!! Good luck with all your baking.
I heard a week or two ago that Costco was carrying these items. I don't know if GR had any, but you might want to check out the ones on the East side. They usually get some of the higher end items.
Hee hee.
That reminds me of my MIL. She was so amazed by the internet but thought that the whole internet was actually inside the computer. "How does that computer have all that information already?" This was about 2.5 years ago.
They now have a laptop and wireless network thanks to Mike setting it up at their house. I'm trying to get her on allrecipes.com because I know she would love it. But she is hesitant, she just wants me to write up the recipes for her. She's only 57! And my FIL asked Mike if he could hack into their lake's website so he could update pictures of the current fishing champions. Uh, no. Love it.
It scares me that someday I might be an old lady outpaced by technology.
Oh wait - she said glancing at her cell phone - I already am.
I want a jacket from there.Something for run/walks with Henry and climbing on playground equipment. I think I want this one:

Do you have one? What do you think?
Oh my. I am right there with you with my dumb phone. I shouldn't snicker because I totally see this in my future too. I just can't help it. The MIL internet in the computer story makes me think of Zoolander and I can't help but laugh.
Hey!
We're half-way through September. I just realized that.
That's all.
Well, if I handed you a flash drive, would you know what to do with it?
This morning I gave a flash drive to someone here and he told me he didn't know what to do with it. Like, he needed me to show him where to put it in his computer. Apparently he'd never seen one before.
He is 33 years old, and has graduated from college and law school.
It struck me as odd.
I'm the same. With pretty much any piece of clothing, I have trouble spending more than $30.
Still sick over here. I'm trying to put in a few hours working from home right now though, since I've been using PTO these days like it's going out of style.
This morning I got up and emailed my boss to let her know I was sick, did a little work, then went back to bed.
I swear to God when I woke up I thought it was Friday. And when I came downstairs to work some more I was thinking, "I wonder who works on Friday," since I don't normally work then.
My brain is scrambled eggs.
this is me too, only over $20 and I have major internal conflict over the purchase lol. I'm currently loving my $18 mossimo jeans from Target that will likely fall apart by the end of fall. Oh well.
I thought I was ready for fall but Brrrrr waking up to a cold house sucks. I forgot about it. DH is dead set on not turning the heater on this early, so I'm layering it up.
Ben has decided to wake up 2-3 times a night and only fall back asleep if we lay down in his bed with him. I always fall asleep and end up sleeping in his bed from 2-3am on. And forget naps. I have no idea how people have more than 1 child LOL.
Speaking of old people and computers (awesome MIL story, Hoektastic), one of my FB friends just posted this video. It's of an older couple trying to figure out how to use their web cam. Adorable.
I saw this earlier, so freaking cute!
Hope you feel better soon, JuliD!

At least 85% of my clothes are Old Navy, Target or super duper clearance stuff. All my jeans are Mossimo - haha. And they last at least a few years. Since most of my stuff is so cheap, I don't mind every once in a while buying something a little more expensive. As long as I know I will use it a lot and I love it.
I just bought a cute pair of really comfortable jeans at Macy's called Rewash, and they were only $30.
Ha ha, thanks. My day has so far been filled with all of the above. :-)
Victory! Like, stand on a mountop with a flag planted and multiple fist pumps, Victory!!!
Henry, who is a nonnap phase. Dear Henry, who has been whiney and very sensitive all week, has laid himself on the couch, covered up with a blanket, and gone off to sleep.
I would literally kill for that to happen here. My dismal attitude is related to Ben ans his sleep issues. Good job Henry!
I'm so sorry. I know exactly what you mean. This is out of the ordinary, and I'm so happy. Of course... it came right before a quick run to the grocery store for 2 ingredients.
That was my previous mindset, too. Then I got to thinking... as much time as I spend in my running duds, price-per-wear is WAY low. I mean, really, when I'm wearing something 5 days a week, it's practically my "work" wear at that point. And when I'm spending dollar after dollar on things that wear out quickly (i.e., less than a year) then I'm not really saving any money by replacing them so soon.
So I decided to start investing in LLL after trying some on in person, and being wowed by the comfort and flattering styles. Now I stalk the website for sale items ("we made too much") and have added to my wardrobe at a significantly lower price.
