Re: SA Wednesday
Oh, will you be joining me on the dark side now?
Well strength training is meant to be done in addition to cardio workouts, not in place of. So you're actually burning 200 extra calories.
ETA: Shortgirl, I think so. I'm with Chelsea--it's not just the layout, it's the fact that we no longer have the freedom we had before.
I had a major meltdown with the new Yahoo yesterday too. That's another one I want to leave!

Word.
Exactly. I don't like having to dig to see if people are posting new things. I keep meaning to hide some of the people who come up on my feed in hopes that maybe new people will show up in their places. Is that a thing that happens?
I am not a huge fan of the new FB but know I won't leave, so it's whatever to me. I do like how Google+ has a giant blue arrow pointing to where you can join today. Good timing.
I am tired today, I think I just don't sleep as soundly when my DH is out of town. I packed my running clothes and some pre-run fuel food, so I am hoping that I can rock out a run today even with being tired. I'd like to see how things are going to go on Saturday.
I mentioned to my friend that I was thinking about running the 5k this weekend (it's $35) and she said "I'll bet there are cheaper 5k's we can do this weekend." It was then that awkward moment when I had to just man up and say that I wanted to run by myself. It seemed okay but I think she was a little hurt, which wasn't my intention but I just really wanted to do something by myself. I feel kind of bad and selfish now.
I read everyone's posts and have a ton to respond to, so here goes:
Amanda - For real on some cheap gas. NW Fort Worth FTW.
Tiffany - Have fun! I hope it all goes well for you.
BL - Some day I will add in more strength than just Jillian Michaels...too much running to make it happen right now.
Megan - I watched TBL last night and enjoyed it. I was glad the person who got kicked off was chosen. She was a B.
Chelsea - Yay for getting through the workout. Side planks are my nemisis.
I'm sorry, I'm posting and running....
Loved "New Girl"!!!!! Also, does anyone watch "Raising Hope"? It's by the same guy who did "My Name is Earl" and I really enjoyed that one.
"Ides of March". Drool.......I love eye candy. Also, I'm on the fence about "Dream House" because it looks pretty intense but, on the other hand, it's Daniel Freaking Craig. I can't wait for the next James Bond movie.
And, yep, I don't like the new FB either but I don't see myself leaving over it. I'm still trying to figure out if my wall is completely blocked from people who aren't my friends after the last change. And, so far, I really like Google +. I wish more people were on it though.
Hey there! I am WAY behind on the times. I have seen a ton of complaints about FB, but I haven't logged on from a computer yet. I'm guessing I probably won't be crazy about it either. Google+ is cool, but I don't know many people on it yet, and I'm still trying to get the hang of it.
DH won a new Blackberry Torch, and switched out my iPhone for it while I was asleep last night. It's hard not having the iPhone (or my contacts) but I do welcome the change. I think I'm gonna stick with the iPhone though.
Does anyone go through phases of working out? Like you are motivated to get up and go do something for a few months, then the idea of going outside and getting sweaty just does not appeal to you? I'm so ready for this funk to leave so I can get moving again!

I do this but more on like a bi-weekly basis. I force myself to do it though. I find that if I get into my workout clothes it pushes me into the "I can do this!" mode and I just do it.
Something so simple that really helped me is telling myself when it gets bad that "Uncomfortable is okay." I have really been able to internalize that and bring it out during long runs or workout sessions when I want to quit. The whole thing is so mental and that really helped me.
Absolutely. Luckily I'm on an upswing right now, lol. For me, getting to the gym is the hardest part. So I'll tell myself, oh, I'll just do an easy workout, or I'll just do cardio and not weights, but once I actually get there and get started, I end up doing my normal, full-on workout.
I like this idea. I will use this the next time I'm in my "ugh" mood.

On a related note - I saw a girl at school wearing a shirt that said - "Every Damn Day. Just do it." I sort of loved it.
Even then, sometimes it doesn't help. I live 17 miles from my work (downtown FW) and it takes me an hour to get home everyday!
LOVE the pics Chelsea!
I agree with everyone else...not a fan of the new FB layout.
I have the New Girl DVR'd at home...didn't get to it last night, but I'm glad to hear it's good!
Julie, what an awesome student to do all that with his Quiddich game!!
I need to own this shirt.
In other news, people annoy me. No, I'm sorry, "I want to get to the Rangers' game early" isn't a refund-worthy excuse for missing something you booked 4 months ago. Tough cookies.
I go through that all the time. I was so good about making myself do it and I just have not been that way at all lately :-(
I wasn't feeling good today and I went home sick :-( I hate having to do that because I don't have any sick days, so I will have to either make up the time or just not get paid for it. :-(

Hey ladies!
First off on the working out, Go Chelsea! I like hearing your updates about bootcamp. I SO need to get back on the bandwagon of working out. I used to be SOOO good, but the last few years I will work out a week or two and take a few off. Not very helpful. I've started c25k about 5 times this summer. I still haven't gotten to the second week yet. Ugh. I REally need to get motivated.
As for FB, I rarely post on it, but I do play some of the games and read other people's statuses. I wish more would move over to G+. And Stephie - if you are upset about yahoo, try news.google.com. It searches all publications for the stories you want!
I did not have any time to watch tv last night, but I did record TBL & new girl. Can't wait to watch them!
Julie - what did you and the teachers do yesterday?

Seriously. People kill me.
Agreed.
Did anyone watch the roast of Charlie Sheen?
"...And he just came out of my imaginary birthday cake." -its apelila
That is NOT a reasonable excuse at all!!! I guess it's because they moved the game from 7:05 p.m. to 3:10 p.m.
We DVR'd it and have yet to watch it. It is only Wednesday of the new season and I am already behind.
Don't get me started. Don't even get me started.

On my Disney board, there's a multi-quote feature. I wish we had that here.
Sarah,
I didn't watch most of last season but I enjoyed what I saw so I put it on our list for this year. I loved "My Name is Earl". In fact, when I was in the hospital, Bill bought me a couple of seasons to keep myself occupied.
Lacy,
I thought it was really cool of my students. I'm really going to miss this group when they graduate this year. Like, crying at graduation.
Michelle,
I worked on finishing up that rec for my student. I was in utter agony on what to say. I had almost two typed pages so I had to seriously edit. I also wrote a quiz over a famous Roman's bio from wiki. Are you asleep yet? :-)
Yeah, it was moved. And I get it... that sucks. But their session wasn't in the middle of the game or anything. They would have MAYBE missed the first 10 minutes of it, and that's if they went back home to change after the session. And if those are your priorities, that's fine... none of my business at all. But don't ask me to lose money because the first 10 minutes of a game that you can LISTEN TO ON THE RADIO are more important to you than honoring a commitment.
Ok. Sorry. Ranting over. I just never cease to be amazed at what people will get mad at me for.
I liked My Name is Earl too. I watch the reruns on that sometimes. I think Raising Hope will be funnier this season since they made Hope older.

I completely agree! Jerks!!
I can't believe how big she has gotten! She is so flippin cute! I love Raising Hope!!! So glad fall tv is back!
