Chit Chat Thursday

Re: Chit Chat Thursday

  • We have a Halloween party on Saturday and we have no costumes and no ideas.  Neither of us can get into it this year.  I did tell DH that if the Rangers don't pull out a win tonight that he will have to watch Friday on a delay so we can costume shop.  He looked thrilled....

Tiffany-  I am dying to know, but I don't have any good guesses.

DH is going to see a doctor today about his shoulder.  It has really started bothering him and sometimes his whole arm will just go numb.  The other night we went to dinner and he was driving.  He looked at me and said, "Like right now, I can't feel my arm at all."  I was sure glad he was driving.....

And finally...I was taking my nail polish off last night and doing laundry.  The dryer buzzer went off and I went to fold laundry.  Dumb me left my polish remover soaked cotton ball on the end table.  Now one corner of the table is missing some of the finish.  I tried to color it in with a furniture marker and then I just rotated that corner to the back!

  • Two weeks from today, it's my birthday and the beginning of our little vacation.  Kind of excited.

I'm losing weight again but I'm not doing anything so much as eating peanut butter sandwiches, Baked Lays and lots of applesauce (no sugar added in a squeeze pouch).

I now only have two classes left and they are hard because, by the time I get to this point every day, I start thinking that it's almost over and I should just go easy.  And it's starting to show in their work so I really need to get my motivation back and start cracking the whip.

While we were on our honeymoon, my cousin did the same thing. She claimed she didn't know polish remove would ruin the wood. I was less than pleased. We could never fix it enough for me to not notice it so we rotated the table too...haha. It is in the far corner and I don't think about it unless we have guests.

  • Tiffany - Something with baking equipment? It's the only thing I can think of that Leslie might have a lot of.

I'm pretty excited about our Halloween costumes. I really wanted to go as Angry Birds or Shrek & Fiona or Munchkins or something cute like that, but Courts wanted to do something scary. So, this is what we came up with. We're going to do white makeup and I'm going to get some of that white spray hair color.

  • Busy day at work today, so this may be a post and run.

I'm really interested to know what your costume is Tiffany!

Thanks to the awesome idea from Leslie - DH and I are going as a team from Legends of the Hidden Temple. I just did a blog post on the DIY parts (http://ohlordylove.blogspot.com/2011/10/getting-creative-for-halloween.html) , but will post pictures after our party this weekend.

Hope everyone is having a great day!  All of the weight loss talk is so impressive and a little motivating factor for me to get back into it.

Also, thanks to Lacey's comment yesterday on the movers, I pulled up the people I used on the last two moves and their price is only about $60 more then what we would be spending on renting a truck so I booked them.  I'm sure my family and my back will thank me.

  • We are going to a party Saturday night and we are going as a WT B&M.  DJ found a tuxedo shirt we are cutting the arms off of and some black dickies we are going to mess up.  I'm wearing a wife beater with bride on it and a short white skirt and my veil my sisters made me for the rehearsal dinner.

    Tiffany-coupon queen??

All the weight loss talk is impressive ladies! I can't believe some of y'all can get up early enough to workout. I can barely get out of bed right now to get out the door looking somewhat put together.  Congrats to all the weight and size losses!!

Oh, I went crazy nuts on Pinterest last night.      I tagged something on the "everyone" board (strawberries dipped in greek yogurt and then frozen) and I got about a dozen emails where literally a hundred people must have tagged it from me.

    A little overboard, much?

Watch out, I'm on there now and you have some cute things I'm repinning!  :)

  • So, I had lunch at our new cafeteria, that has a fancy chef, and pretty good food.  There may or may not have been a cricket in my corn succotash... I wasn't really planning on eating it anyway.

I think Dana nailed Tiffany's costume!

ETA - I never get emails from Pintrest - I think I disabled that feature right away.  But, it's been super slow for me lately, and I get annoyed easily.  They need to step it up!

  • Angie- Eww!  I would've freaked out if I found a bug in my food!

Stephie- Yea, I have been at this new job now for about 3.5 months.

I am so ready for this week to be over!  Only one and a half more days though :-)

  • Tiffany.. Queen of cake?

I'm going as Charlie Sheen.  No lies.  Mask, bowling shirt and all.  I'm going to win my Halloween costume contest tomorrow! Winning!

  • Dana - Yep, you nailed it!

I'm going as a Coupon Queen. :)   It's especially fun since those super duper extreme couponers drive me crazy.    In case you haven't seen them, they aren't just on TV.   I've run into them on multiple occasions at Kroger.

...and of course you always know they have struck when the whole shelf of something random that you need is completely empty.

    Grr.

I love this idea... I'd love to do it, but my prom dresses were a little too, um, slutty to be queen-ly.  Oops.

  • I'm so distracted today. I really want to go home, sit on the couch under a blanket with a mug of cider, and watch Nightmare Before Christmas and Hocus Pocus.
  • Tiffany- That is a very original idea.  Can't wait to see pics!  Are you going to be pushing a shopping cart with 40 bottles of mustard?  Oh wait, there probably isn't any more mustard left at the store.

Today is National Cranky Co-Worker Day.  No joke.

If you are a vet or active military personnel, you can get a free meal on 11/11 at Applebee's.

I would love to watch that with you! Stop living so far away. I love that movie.

    Yeah what a good guess!

I like my coupons but I'm not one of those that buys something just because it's on sale and I'll never use it.  I saved $63 last week when I went to the store.  DH was pretty happy.  It was very nice since we had no food and I had to buy more than normal and I still ended up under budget.  I always go late on a Monday or Tuesday and my coupons are organized and ready to go.  I don't buy 100 bottles of anything!

I can't wait to see pictures!

Hahahahaha!   Well, I tried them all on last night and I forgot how er, backless some of them were.   I think the one I'm wearing is going to be a strapless navy blue glitter with a row of rhinestones at the top.   I guess it really doesn't matter because I'm going to wear a sash and pin coupons to the sash and dress.   I'm also going to get a cheesy tiara.  Totally.

If I could take a shopping cart I would!!

    ETA:

Dana - Nothing wrong with getting a deal on stuff you want/need!   My frustration lies when the entire rack of Band Aid's is missing.   Or Biscuits.  Or Razors.   This has happened to me 3x.

  • Tiffany - That costume idea is adorable.I wish I had a coupon queen with me today... I just spent more than I ever have at Wal Mart for a regular grocery run. I know it's because we were just out of EVERYTHING, but still... it hurts to spend on groceries what we used to spend on rent.

Anna - I definitely agree on the "staying home and watching Nightmare Before Christmas. I told Mack last night that this weather is all about Tim Burton.

What about one of those smaller baskets you carry around the store?  Even though we all know that real coupon queens need a whole basket, not just one of those little things!

  • Tiffany, Love the idea!  I wish I could be more creative and come up with stuff like that!

I forgot to mention this earlier... I know many, many, many months back, when we were still on TK someone mentioned the NetiPot.  I had never heard of one before then, but with all the sinus trouble I've been having I went got one of those earlier this week.  That thing is awesome!  I mean, the dr helped too.  But in the days leading up to me going there, it helped relieve so much sinus pressure.  Whoever mentioned that, thank you.

Not looking at it because I don't have time at the moment, but "fell in the shower" is one of those excuses a woman uses when her man beats her... kinda like "walked into a door" and "fell down the stairs."  Just sayin'.

Sure - It's Exodus Moving!  I wish they were $60, but they're $60 more than what we were looking at renting a truck and hand dolly.  They offer 2 or 3 guy packages.
