Leaving bronze (or newbie!) status
Re: Leaving bronze (or newbie!) status
How long ago did you take it? Didn't it take about an hour the other night (was that last night? I've lost all track of time this week)?
Good news though. The car that we REALLY want. My dh tracked down, & we get to test drive it tonight!
Theres a total of 4 in the entire city of Houston, only 1 is what we want. Talk about rare.
What car???
We told my parents about the baby!!
It wasn't exactly how I planned. Mom and dad ended up not coming over because she had a doctors appointment friday morning that didn't go so well. After 2 years of being in remission, her cancer has returned with 3 "spots" on her left lung. (Background: she was diagnosed on my 22 birthday with endometrial cancer that they found after doing a routine hysterectomy, and several years later it metasticised to the plueral lining of her left lung. She has had chemo, and in more recent years very sophisticated radiation that pinpoints the exact cancer "spot" and zaps it away.) I called her to talk to her about that around 10 last night, and after that discussion she asked me what 51912 meant (I had posted that on C's facebook with a smiley face a few days ago). I just kinda laughed and she said "is that the due date?" I couldn't even think of a good lie, and just said yes. We talked for about an hour after that and she congratulated us and seems pretty happy. I asked her what she thought dad would say and she mentioned he is really stressed with her diagnosis and went to bed early...but didn't give me a real answer.
This morning I got this text from my dad "I recently read that studies have proven that people born in May, especially the 2nd half, are the best looking, smartest, and significantly above average as compared to the rest of the general population. What do you think?????"
Part of me was like "did mom tell?" and the other part of me was thinking dad was just being silly, because he IS silly and his birthday is May 30th. I immediately texted my mom and she confirmed that she had just told him. Dad and I txted back and forth a bit and he seems just fine. WHEW!!!! I was really worried they'd be pissed, only because we aren't married yet and are technically just starting out on our own, even though we are 30-somethings.
C is headed over to his parents now to pick up some stuff and tell them the news, assumming they are home. I am going to take a nap because I only got 4 hours of sleep last night and I work tonight.
Yay about telling parents! Your dad seems super excited!
What kind of car?! YAY!!! Congrats!!!
Sry not clicky, on iPad.
I was a little nervous, but everyone was nice! I haven't been to a G2G since before I was married, so it was probably early 2004.
Was it worth it?
So sorry to hear that about your mom. I hope she has the strength and willingness to bead it for good this time.
Yay for sharing the good news with the parents! I'm so glad they're happy about it...especially your dad! He sounds like he'll have fun as a grandpa!
Yay!!! I'm so glad you were able to get a car that you really want!
I guess it's good for his ego to just let him think that. Lol
I just had pizza Friday night and I'm already craving it again. What's wrong with me?? I think they put crack in that pizza or something.
Wanna go eat pizza with me instead? LOL
We'll go to a g2g together! Since we already (kinda) know each other.
Cute!!! I love the way you announced it!
