I am so bored and am having a hard time staying awake today! :-(. Is there anything y'all are really wanting for Christmas?  Or something you are really excited to give someone?

I'm excited to give my mom her spa day at the Stoneleigh.  Me and my sister went in on it together--it has fruit and champagne and everything!

I'm always excited to give or receive though.  I just love Christmas.

Finally back from Care Now, nothing exciting, just take Motrin, etc.  We were there so long that I felt fine by the time I saw the doctor.

I have a pretty bad headache though and plan to just rest the rest of the day.  I am so nervous waiting for the claims specialist to call--I just want that part over with.

  • Stephie- I'm glad it's nothing serious and I hope your headache goes away soon!

Lumber Liquidators has good prices, especially if you have a floor area that is not too large, you can take advantage of closeout flooring. BUT when dealing with anything to do with wood floors make sure you (or your contractor) include both the pad and the transition strips in the price of the flooring. We spent $500 on the pad and transition strips alone.

My contractor didn't say anything about the pad or transition strips! You're totally right, though -- we'll need both. I'm so glad you told me this!

I was depressed when I first read your comment, though, because we're close to the bottom of what we can spend on renovations, and $500 would make it scary close ... until I just remembered we're getting a deposit back from our REA tomorrow. It's exactly $500, so we're back to having a safe buffer! Phew.

OK, someone posted this on TK yesterday, but I actually just watched the video.

    Um, this is awkward.

Eewww! Why were they eating each other's faces!?

After this comment, I HAD to see it. Sad - that girl is attacking her poor groom.

It seems pretty staged, but I am slightly fascinated. DH's cousin got married "pure" - he was 37 and had never even kissed someone before. It was a very strange, DOUBLE wedding -- talk about awkward.

  • Stephie, I'm so glad you're ok and I hope the headache goes away soon.

Sarah, I love giving and receiving too. Unfortuantely, I haven't shopped one bit so I can't say about the giving part. Although, I'd love to get a new pair of riding boots, black cowboy boots or a DSLR camera!  What about you?

  • Stephie - so glad you are okay!

Sarah - I haven't bought anyone anything, either.  I need to start shopping. :/

  • Stephanie - Great to hear you are ok! Rest and get better!

We bought all the toys for the kids and I'm most excited to see them open them up. I really want to know what DH got me. I have my birthday exactly two weeks before Christmas so I get double gifts from him.

Ben's is 12/8--so he gets birthday, Hanukkah and Christmas!  But for his birthday, it's usually just dinner and a card.  We are going to Morton's this year and I already can't wait.

  • Wow today was eventful on here, its been super crazy lately (seems like always anymore), but my schedule tomorrow looks a little lighter so I might be able to check in a little more.

Leslie, Kathy, Stephie you will all be in my thoughts!

Thanks girls! In case I didn't explain, it's Mack's handwriting. :) I'm not big on names/faces in tattoos, but definitely a symbol of the person. When Mack and I first started dating 8 years ago, I was still having night terrors and flash backs as a result of domestic abuse. If I got freaked in the middle of the night, he'd rub my back and hum to me and say that everything was fine. Since then, any time I'm freaking about anything, he just really easily says, "Everything is fine". Not in a flippant way... in a confident, "I'm going to take care of you" way.

SO, the first time I heard Josh Turner's song, "Everything Is Fine", I burst into tears, because it's so so so so so perfect, and it's now one of my favorite songs of all time. Now, I have it on me! :) Constant comfort and reassurance from the love of my life.

    That's awesome!
