 I could never get rid of a pet. FSIL has three dogs and a newborn and she does just fine. I mean, I get it could be way more stressful, I just couldn't do it.

So she is pretty much getting rid of one animal because she had a baby and wants a new dog. It pisses me off so much.

I did. She never responded. I told her just to make sure I am understanding correctly, are you getting rid of your cat to get a new dog?

 J - I would be so pissed about the checks ~ it sounds like your grandmother is pretty old-school, but she is being disrespectful by refusing to use your correct name. I'm sorry about that.

Also - I saw that my SS person got their gift    ~ We're doing the reveal tomorrow so we will all find out who had who!!

Can someone convince me that I won't die tonight when I meet up w/ someone to sell this ipod? It is a craigslist sale. I have only bought before and for some reason as the seller this time I am more nervous.

Yes, she did delete it. This happened a week ago. I'm kinda tempted to right a new comment but I don't want to seem crazy. 

 I think I'll wait until she posts something about it again. I know she will.

Hope you get to feeling better. The Cold Remedy thread had a lot of great suggestions for remedies. 

 Yeah I know it would be loads more work...but I couldn't do it.

Make sure you're meeting at a public place, I would take a friend with me or FI but then i'm a big ol' baby.

I don't quote on here because i HATE the quoting function, but yes Chrissy it is a public place. We are meeting in the atrium area of a mall where there is a caribou coffee. No way was I gonna meet in some dark parking lot!

FI does this all the time and it always sketches me out.  He goes to a public place, usually one of the train stations near where we live.  He tries to bring my car because his stands out like a sore thumb (huge lifted truck).  If he thinks it's sketchy he goes with his gut and leaves.  I usually accompany him most times and its always been fine.  

 

Are you meeting in a public place?

Is anyone going with you?

I don't have anyone going with me because I don't have anyone available to. I tried to find the most public place where the chances of someone finding me in the parking lot before going in (if they tried to rob me before getting to the meeting place) are slimmer since there are so many entrances...and the middle of a mall is gonna be so busy with activity that I don't think she will try anything. So we can hope. Plus then I can mill about the mall a bit if I am worried she will try to follow me back to my car or something.

 The quoting on here does seem to be weird, I get a little confused as to who is saying what, but maybe that's just me.

MuSu - You'll be fine. Just be aware of your surroundings and try to park as close to the mall as you can, under a streetlight. Malls are fine, parking lots are scary.

I guess selling on CL during the holidays is a good time to do it because I got about 20 emails about my post within minutes. I was like whoa wtf. Everyone wants my brand new ipod as an Xmas gift heh.

Growing up, my parents had to deal with two kids, two cats, a dog, a guinea pig, countless hamsters and mice, four fish tanks and a newt.

 At least one parent made it to every single music recital, school play and sporting event. My brother and I were involved in swimming, diving, gymnastics, basketball, volleyball and track. I played piano, trumpet, bass clarinet and hand bells.

Yeah that sounds like a great place to meet, malls are always good ideas there's just so many people, especially around this time of year.

Yeah I plan on going to a close spot that is well lit. I mean, I probably have as much likelihood of getting robbed in the parking lot by a random as I do by the buyer at this point, she sounded legit over the phone. Last time when I was a CL buyer (for my freezer), I had my 6'4 230lb brother with so I was more confident, lol.

Darn! I wish I could buy the ipod from you. FI's truck got broken into last night and his ipod was the only thing stolen. He's had the same one since he DJ'd in HS, so he lost thousands and thousands of songs.

 Sometimes our neighborhood sucks.

 My best friend's husband got rid of their cat when she had her baby.  I lost some respect for her when she let him do that.

My grandma is being so passive aggressive about my last name.  "Proper women" take their husbands' last names, so she refuses to acknowledge that I did not change mine.  She kept writing me checks written to "Jessica H-last name" even though we told her about 7 times that I couldn't cash them.  My bank was being a PITA too.  Finally, the last time, I didn't want to fight with the bank, or just hold on to the check, so I sent it back to her with a note that said "Thank you so much for thinking of me, I appreciate it, but I can't cash this because this isn't my legal name.  If you really want to use "H-last name" you can make checks out to him and he can cash them for us."

 I just got a Christmas card from her.  The envelope says "Jessica RealLastName (and Kyle)."

 FUUCKING SERIOUSLY?!  So, if you acknowledge I didn't change my last name, you refuse to acknowledge my HUSBAND?!

That sucks about your grandma.  I'm sorry to hear that she is being so difficult.

Where do you bank?  I haven't legally changed my last name yet, but everyone writes checks out to Amy HisLastName and I have no problem cashing them.  Even my paychecks are written with his last name.  I bank at Chase and they have never even questioned it.

Aww Rach that sucks! I know he's majorly disappointed! FI keeps his in his truck all the time and he's had his forever so I know he'd be so upset if something happened to it.

FI's dad once had his car completely gutted, I'm talking seats and all.  He had to drive to the dealership on a bucket.
