OL Tuesday

Dear BIL's brother,

Yes we are all talking about you moving the wedding date. It's going to be interesting to see what date you end up picking. I also find it bizarre that 5 months from the wedding day you have nothing besides the venue and church picked out.

  • Dear body,

Please cooperate and have a period soon.  It's not that difficult!  Just do it already! :-(

    Dear tax return,

Please be good this year.  I can think of so many things I can use you for!

    Dear student loan company,

Please approve my deferment.  It would REALLY help me out!

Please tell me there is a good solution to prevent babies without hormones.  I really need to stop stressing and freaking out, but I really dont want the hormones.

    Dear mind,

Can you please shut off every once in a while.  I didnt take my meds to help me sleep last night so it took almost 4 hours to fall asleep then I woke up at 4:30.  4 hours of sleep with no caffeine is going to suck for sure.

  • Dear Next Three Mornings,

I will relish sleeping in an extra 30 minutes or so since the little people will not be coming.

    Dear JV Basketball Coach,

I find it very interesting that you are basically second in command yet you know nothing about the rules.  Maybe you should do something about that or, at the very least, stop yelling at us when you are wrong.

CD 40 now. The doctor said they want me to wait a little while longer to see if the metformin will kick in. If not, I don't know what the next step is. My body just won't have one on its own. :-(

It is a white pill. I have taken provera and that will for sure give me a period, but it doesn't explain why my body won't do it on its own or why I'm not ovulating at all.

Sarah - I thought the one Julie mentioned was your last resort thing. I hope it happens naturally though.

My original OB/GYN put me on progestin several years ago because I wasn't having a period either.  It worked like a charm.  I took it last year (along with chlomid) because not only was I not having a period but I also wasn't ovulating.  I think my body was too stressed to have a period (my mom had just died) but it turns out that my body was not releasing eggs.  Anyways, I hated chlomid and I hated how I felt--I felt like a crazy person, yelling all the time, getting overly emotional.  I even went through one more round than they suggest for most people, I think because of my age.  Anyways, Sarah, lots of girls have had success not only the first time, but being able to get pregnant fairly easily a second time, after doing some of this stuff.  Fingers crossed that Flo comes soon.

  • BL, I take the BC called Nora-BE.  It only contains progestin and I'm on it bc of my high blood pressure issues. Are you hoping to take a pill form of BC or something else?  Just curious.  :)

Sarah, postive thoughts coming your way and I also hope we get a good tax return this year.  I'm crossing my fingers!

Chelsea, I'm off to read your blog!

Dear Christmas decorations, please put yourself up.  :)

Dear catch-all-bedroom, I need to organize you and clean you out.  I hope to put in a scrapbook area this year.

    Dear Amanda,

I have a scrapbook area behind our couch so that I can watch TV with Bill.  It's fairly unorganized right now and the cats use it as an out post to spy on us, but I do enjoy having it there.

  • Dear BL, are you not interested in doing the natural family thing or whatever that the other girls on here do?  I'm certainly no doctor, but I think the only thing that will keep you from ovulating is hormones, unfortunately.  I take a low-hormone BC pill called Loestrin--it's about the lowest one on the market I think.  I've taken it forever and I love it.

  • Amanda, I am really looking into the copper IUD or get my tubes tied, but going into the Dr with an open mind to hear her thoughts.  She is a D.O and practices whole body health and natural therapies before drugs, so I am hoping she has some options. I would prefer to stay away from all hormones if possible.

Stephie, I am currently doing the fertility awareness method and while I think it is okay, I am just so anti baby that I dont think its right.  I have a good window of when I will ovulate and put a 2-3 day buffer on either side of that, but my cycles are 37 days average.  Then this month I actually ovulated 10 days earlier than I have any other month which scared the bajezus out of me to the point that I went and got plan B just in case.  It was very scary.

Ah, I understand.  Well again, if you want a full-proof method, it's hormones.  That's just the way it goes I think.  What about Matt getting a vasectomy?  Could that be an option?  That is way more simple and less invasive than a tubal.

I have the copper IUD and love it I have had no issues with it at all. It is a 10 year bc too. I also know a friend who had her uteres burned but that sounds pretty pain full to me. Good luck with the new dr.

  • I second Stephie. Plus, from what I understand, a vasectomy is more easily reversible should that day come, maybe, someday, in the far distant future.

I have spent two days in the last week at the TWU career center, and I am feeling very encouraged. I haven't narrowed things down yet, but it looks like I may be going back to school soon to get myself into a field with a lot of job opportunities. But the most hilarious, ironic moment of it all was when she revealed my #1 most compatible job: Librarian.

I third this. Mack's vasectomy was TOTALLY no big deal. I mean, it's obviously not something he wants to do every year on his birthday or anything, but he was up and around the next morning and it's been SO nice to not have to worry about BC.

  • Clynn, thanks for the info on the copper IUD, I appreciate it.

Re the vasectomy, please dont judge me for this, I know it sounds silly but here we go.  I have always since like 15 known I did not want kids.  Matt never really thought about it until we got together and I knew it would be a deal breaker so I brought it up early.  He at first said he didnt care either way, then he said he agrees he doesnt want any.  I know most men dont have that hardcore urge until much later in life so I guess I want to leave that option open for him to have kids in the future if he decides its a must have (even if I dont change my mind).  I guess I just havent felt right asking him to do it, I am sure he would, but I feel bad asking.

I totally understand.  Just don't have a tubal without at least discussing it.  Putting your body through that would be senseless if he is willing to have a much less invasive, less riskier procedure.  It's at least worth a discussion is all I am saying.

  • Last night's game, or what I got to see of it, was boring.

I need more caffeine.  Maybe I'll take your usual serving today, Bobbileigh!  :-)

The more I teach, the more I think that there are some kids who just don't belong in a high school setting.  I think every child should have a good, basic education, but college is not for all of them.  If we were sending some of these kids out into the world with a good, basic education and a skill, they would be so much better off.  I say this, because my class is pretty academic and I have three kids in here who will probably not go to college because it's just not for them.

  • BL- Another option could be Lutron or Lupron, something like that.  It was presented to me as one of my options because it is no hormones and puts you into menopause while you are on it.  It essentially shuts things down.
