If you have kids...

What Valentine's are you sending to school?

I just finished F's, they are 'flowers' with a lollipop as the stem.  There were so many cute ideas on Pinterest, it was hard to choose.

Re: If you have kids...

  • I was just going to get regular Valentines with a sucker or M&Ms attached.  I signed up for sweets for the party, so I am planning on making mini cupcakes with pink and white frosting.

Can you post some of the Pinterest ideas here?  If it's something fun and easy, maybe I'll attempt it!

  • For Tori-  Baggies of teddy grahams and a couple of Hershey's hugs with a tag attached thay says "Bear Hugs from Tori".

We're also making pink cookies with the dove chocolate hearts pressed into them.

For the older girls, we're going to make a bunch of individually wrapped marshmallow pops for them to hand out to their friends.

  • Cute!  I got a box of shaped pretzels in bags (Cars & Princess) that we'll send, but I'm also making sugar cookies this weekend.

I am sending fruit for his party and I'm taking a Pinterest idea to cut the fruit out in heart shapes.  :-)

  • A box of premade cards with pixie sticks!

Emmy's birthday party is in 3 weeks and so my craft bar is full! =)

Lisa. mommy to Emmy and Ally image
  • Something with lollipops since I had leftovers from L's birthday party.

    I like the butterfly idea.

  • I am doing the melted crayons in the shape of hearts!
  • I'm doing the melted crayons too since all food has to be store bought. I'm not a huge fan of candy for her age (still under 2), so wanted something non-edible.

This was my reason for doing crayons too!

Smile That said, I'm still making the Dove cookies for us, and maybe for her teachers, too.

I'm doing these too, but I'm also making cookies. For my coworkers (we are doing a dessert happy hour) I'm making chocolate chip cookie dough truffles.

  • I bought one of the $5 foam Valentine crafting kits from Target that I'm going to turn Cameron loose with tomorrow (we'll see how much of a disaster ensues), and then I'm making heart sugar cookies to go with.

These turned out really cute, as well!

But I gotta know....I noticed you put Finley W., there can't possibly be more than 1 Finley in her class, is there?

  • um... store bought cards. he will sign his name. i think crafty cards are great and when my kids are bigger we can make them together but i really have no desire to make cards for them.

  • I was planning on buying plain old Valentines card from Target.....do people not do this anymore?? This is the first year his teachers asked parents to bring them since the class is having a party, he is almost two.

This is what roughly 90% of the 30 kids in my 5 yos class will bring.

At my younger son's MDO, there are 6 kids. I bet the girl moms will do something crafty and the boy moms will send store bought cards.

Those are for her playgroup party...and yes, there are two Finleys in playgroup.  Who would have thought?

  • Oh I love those Swedish fish ones!!!

I miss having little kids who think stuff like this is cool : (

  • Like lauroura, I'm doing these.  For some reason they crack me up every time I look at them.

  • Now on our 5th year of exchanging Valentines, I agree with V, the vast majority of people just do store bought ones! Nothing wrong with that. I've always done handmade ones more because I enjoy it more than anything. In fact, K isn't all that crafty herself. She's much more athletic/sports oriented than artsy/craftsy, much to my chagrin. And jax, I agree, those fish ones are too darn cute! So saving that for the future!

See if you can find some train ones that say "I choo-choo-choose you!"

  • I also bought the foam hearts and stickers from Target. My son got bored making the valentines today, but he is going to be in Valentine's boot camp this weekend until he finishes them. :) I may or may not have stuck a few stickers in "random" places on the hearts that looked like a kid put them there.

I love it! We are doing store bought Cars valentines, but then I am making a little goodie bag to go with them since they are having a party and the note home said goodie bags are welcome. I think there are 12 kids in his class.
