Happy Monday Y'all (aka Randoms)
Good morning all!
We had a fairly good weekend. SS didn't really fight us on doing anything he was asked and did a better than usually job cleaning the kitchen. I had to ask where he put things b/c I couldn't find them. I made 2 types of lasagna rolls on Saturday with gorgonzola bread and Sunday we had a bday party for a 4 yr old.
My Mom has surgery today for her knee. It's outpatient and should only take about 20min. Her anxiety is sky high though.
What is up with you?
Re: Happy Monday Y'all (aka Randoms)
Where did you end up getting your mattress? There is always a little sticker shock but it is worth it.
I never had to deal with cutting teeth. SS was 2.5 yrs old so I got to handle him loosing a few when we got custody at age 10. I'm sure a good night sleep helped her and would help you too.
Morning!
I hope you get better sleep tonight Wop. And I hope Renee's teething gets better.
I'm glad SS was being agreeable over the weekend.
Another "weekend" down. Nothing special. 6 more weeks of class! I can do it right? RIGHT??
11 more weeks of this place...
Today begins my new studying schedule. I have to study at least an hour a day. Doesn't sound like much. But it will help when it's crunch time, which will be here in about 3 weeks.
Good Morning!
Deeder I am glad SS decided to be helpful this weekend. I whave to wonder if there was somthing in the air this weekend. All of mine were extra nice and help clean up the whole house. It was kinda sscary that they were all in such a good mood and helpful on the same day! That almost never happens around here!
Wop, cutting teeth is always an interesting time with the little ones. I hope that yours does as well with it as my youngest did. She was mostly pleasent, a little moody but not any worse then when she get woken up to early.
We had a pretty good weekend. Spent most of Saturday doing some cleaning around here. All of the kids and the Hubby we super helpful and I got some of the stuff done that I have not been able to do on my own.
We also got the new crib set up for Baby, put the stroller and pack n play together. Now I just have to wash everything, and wait for him to get here. It seams like forever untill May. I really hope he comes a little early and is born in April, but not too early!
We got it from a small hole in the wall type of place (it was really nice though) in Grandville. We went to 4 different stores and spent 4+ hours shopping. We spent probably an hour alone in the last store deciding on two different mattresses we really liked. We ended up with an off brand of the Serta iComfort (which is a memory foam mattress). We were kind of undecided so we went to dinner to talk it over, and ended up going with it. It was the best mattress for the best price, and we were able to stay exactly in budget which was a relief. I was surprised how expensive mattresses can be! Holy moly!
Glad to hear everyone had good weekends.
Mike and I went carpet shopping for the attic bedroom. Our salesperson kept sneezing and blowing her nose. She explained that she wasn't sick, but that she has an allergy to "carpet fuzz". I had to excuse myself to look at area rugs. And by look at area rugs I mean I needed to giggle about this. How does one with an allergy to carpet decide to make a living selling carpet? It struck me as funny and I was trying to keep a straight face, but on came the church/carpet store giggles.
Anyway, we found what we wanted and scheduled the installation for next Tuesday. Yay.
YAY for cooperative kids, only 6 more weeks of class (you got this girl!), new matress and new carpet (funny story).
Boo for teething.
We did not have that exciting of a weekend. Noah and I are both sick with colds, so we layed low.
That's always good!
Ok ladies, help me do something sweet. B's birthday is a couple weeks away and since it's during the week, I can't be with him. I'd like to have something delivered to him at work.
What do boys like? Flowers? too girly? Edible arrangement? What else? I COULD order him lunch and make sure he gets it around 11:45 that day. I don't know. What do you think?
Does he drink coffee? You could send him a coffee gift basket with a few nice bags of coffee and new mug. Is there anything he's into? Seems like there are gift baskets for everything now a days.
He is not a coffee drinker (silly boy), but likes hot chocolate. I kept seeing this ad about chocolate covered strawberries, but I have no idea if that was just a valentine's day thing.
Snacks- not much of a snacker, Eats like horse but usually only during meal times. Likes chips, loves anything strawberry (I'm making him a strawberry cake for him the weekend before his birthday)...hmmm
You can do it Charity!
Hello!
Glad you got a mattress, Wop.
I would do the lunch delivery. What a nice surprise.
I just made some crescent roll wraps. Half pizza and Half BBQ Ham & Cheese. DH will be starving, I guessing, when he gets back from a clients. He had to be there by 8:30am so his clock will be off today.
I think a gift basket would be pretty cool. Something with a wide variety of foods and maybe something to drink too.
After this morning, I am definitely NOT nervous about my U/S next week. It will be fun to see the little dude, not nerve wrecking.
Glad everyone had good weekends. Ours was pretty boring. I have a mid term tomorrow in my class from hell, and I am not good at studying, so I probably won't do very well on it. Plus I missed class last week, which was the review for the mid term. Blah. It's ok though. Half way done! I just need a C to pass. Haha.
I wouldn't do flowers. But an edible arrangement or some other type of food related basket is a great idea, I think.
I also like to do balloons for boys, particularly something from their childhood (L has been known to get transformers balloons from me on his birthday). But, I've always had these at home, never delivered to work.
You'll do great. Didn't you get a perfect score on the quiz? Or are you so far in the hole from using "pro and con" that you can't pass?
In either case, it sounds like there is little reason to worry.
Good luck!
B would LOVE transformers balloons. Maybe I'll just give him those the week before. Thanks for the ideas!
Hi ladies!
I like the idea of lunch delivery, but in practice it could go wrong. One of his coworkers might say, "it's your birthday? We're going out for lunch."
Willa's home today (President's Day), and it's so nice to be home with both of them. I asked her what she wanted to do today, and she wants me to teach her how to cook. We're going to make banana bread later this afternoon.
Fun!
Weekend highlights:
Ghostbusters 2 for family movie night. Henry loved it. Willa was a little afraid (and we ended up ffing through the scary parts).
Family game hour: several rounds of Skip-bo Jr. were fun.
Jim jumped into Lake Macatawa for Special Olympics. We took a muddy walk at Blandford. We had turkey and veggie burgers from the grill for dinner last night.
Mol, I'm glad/sorry you (probably) had gross confirmation of pregnancy this morning. Hope the wave is gone, and the rest of the day is great. Stargirl's "glorious morning" phrase is cracking me up.
