Stuffed animals - where to give away?

I know it's been discussed before but I didn't need the info until now...I know some places won't accept them...where can I bring them?

Re: Stuffed animals - where to give away?

  • when we give stuff to the vets or whatever donation place i put some in their.
  • I know I've seen them at the Newark Salvation Army ... they're displayed in plastic bags, so IDK if they're cleaned prior to the bagging or not.

You could try calling your local police station or DYFS or something. Some of them keep stuffed animals on hand to give to children who are removed from their homes, to help calm them down.

If they're very small and don't present a choking hazard or anything, I wonder if an animal shelter would take them?

  • There are a couple of Goodwill stores that aren't too far from me. I have given some away to them.
  • My local Lupus chapter took them.  They even picked them up.

  • The vets take everything that I leave outside.
  • I put them in the bags for Lupus pick up.
  • They take them in the donation bins by me so maybe that's an option?

  • I heard the Lupus foundation will do a pickup.  Someone told me they left 6 bags for them.  I felt horrible since I threw a bunch out in the trash the other week but I couldn't stand the amount we had in the house anymore and I was home alone so I figured I'd take the opportunity to get rid of them
