Nightmare, dogs may have killed a neighbor's dog

Re: Nightmare, dogs may have killed a neighbor's dog

  • Home quarantine wasn't an option. It had to be a vet inside our county, and it had to be today, and we just couldn't find anywhere. On top of concerns about at least one of the dogs bloating due to age, medical (edit) history, and having had to be tubed after surgery, it just was the only decision on the table for us. Like I said, though, I'd probably feel the same way if I were reading this.

  • Wow, what an awful (and unexpected) outcome.   I'm so sorry.

I'm really confused as to why AC didn't find an alternative though.  It would seem to me that if they don't have space, they should find acceptable boarding at another location.

  • This is so heartbreaking. I just wanted to say I am so very sorry for your loss.

  • I can't imagine your pain at losing two beloved pets like this.  I am so sorry for your loss.

  • I am heartbroken for you. I can't believe they wouldn't try harder to find accommodations for your dogs. If there was the slightest bit of doubt that they didn't kill the dog I would have fought to make sure they stayed alive. I am so sorry that you had to make that horrible decision though. Oh....and for the record. I would totally go up to your neighbor and say, " I know I said I'd pay for your dogs vet bill and cremation but I didn't know I would be needing that money for my own dogs cremations...sorry but I can't afford to help you out anymore.....sorry for your loss though." That's just me though. :-P
  • OMG.  I'm soooo soo sorry.  ((hugs))  I'm choking up here, honestly.

  • Tears are streaming down my face right now. I read the beginning of this thread when it was only a few posts long and came back to finish it just now.

Tears. {{hugs}} from someone who put a beloved pet down a month ago. I still keep looking for her and she was just little, I can't imagine missing two big dogs at once.

Agreed. Also may I add that I really can't stand your neighbors.
