Re: Do you have an accent?
An hour outside of Pittsburgh. I sometimes sound like my father from NY when I get worked up (so I've been told by those who know him). Any time someone says I sound European though I think about how ridiculous a statement that is. There are how many countries in Europe with how many dialects? Hence why I have no idea what I sound like...
When I was a kid, we went to visit my cousins in TN, and I said something was wicked whatever. They had NO IDEA what I was talking about. And I had no idea that it was strictly a New England thing.
I grew up in western MA, so no real accent. Someone once told me I have a "CT accent," because my Os sound like As. The funny thing is the new sideline reporter for the Red Sox games is from CT, and I picked it up on her trying to cover up her CT accent in about 2.2 seconds, heh.
