Re: what is your profession?
I sell home and auto insurance. THRILLING! I also own 1/3 of a business with my MIL & SIL selling baby things we make. More fun, less lucrative.

I'm a jack-of-all-trades in a small automotive and aerospace prototype (sheet metal) company. It's small enough that I wear a lot of hats since I've been there for 10 years. Mostly project manager, process designer and materials purchaser, but also a shop supervisor, customer liaison, QS internal auditor, and generally the one who makes sure everyone else is following procedure day to day. Not exactly thrilling.
(But that's just for money, something I fell into in college. IRL- outside of "work"- I'm a crafter, I make jewelry, screen print, do light carpentry, paint and knit. But I usually trade those goods & services. Which I need to stop doing if I'm ever going to get outta that shop!)
