This. All of this. It is completely out of line for her to say things like that to you, especially with other people around! I'd tell both HR and your manager. You do not have to deal with people like that. Ever.

And you should tell the coworker that next time she makes a disparaging comment about your body, you're going straight to HR because that's harassment. I agree that you should report it anyway, because a paper trail can't hurt.

This is a real and viable option, particularly because her comments seemed not just thoughtless but designed to wound.  "Ruin your body"?  Seriously?  That's out of f*cking line.  That's not just "Wow, look how pregnant you are!".  And buying a new CHAIR? 

If she'd said that to someone who was just overweight, she'd have been fired on the g*ddamn spot, and rightly so.

Can you speak to her supervisor or to HR?

 

I am 100% on this boat. because we are pregnant we think we have to take a bit of guff from idiots. But if someone said this to an overweight person they would be done done done.
