Re: H&F Monday Randoms
Thanks, I'll try that.
I worked out 5/7 days last week (4 days at the gym, 1 run at home) and was really proud of myself.
Today, I'd like to go to the gym, but this migraine may sideline me (I'll see how I feel after the chiropractor) and that's p!ssing me off.
I miss my 5am gym workouts and the daily energy boost they gave me, but it's so hard to get up early lately. I think I'd have more energy if I made it to the gym in the morning, but I don't have the energy that early. It's a vicious cycle.

Exactly!! I was respond back, "it could be worse, I could be sitting on my a$$ doing nothing." As for DH, he says, " I am sorry, did I ask for your opinion on what I do for exercising/working out? No? Oh, ok. the STFU."
(((hugs)) BTW-great job on your 5K. Are you doing any other ones? Summer is an awesome time to do them!
Lurker but I'll play:
After working a 12 hour day on my feet Friday, I took the weekend off. Today's workout was not good to me.
I wish my feet would have gone back down in size when I had my DD- they went up almost 2 sizes and the Dr. said "sometimes they go back, sometimes they don't". Nice.

I had my wisdom teeth removed on Friday, and can't workout until this Thursday. I also decided this would be the best time for me to wean my 16m/o DD from breast feeding.
Between my aching face & boobs, no exercise, wonky hormones, & a cranky toddler, I'm about to lose it.
2012 Races: 3/18 Shamrock Shuffle 5k; 4/14 E.R. Race for Autism 5k (PR! 25:58); 6/9 Riudoso Sprint Triathlon; 6/24 Chunky Monkey 10K; 7/29 Cochiti Lake Olympic Triathlon; 9/16 Chips & Salsa 1/2 Marathon; 10/21 Duke City 1/2 Marathon; 12/2 Rock & Roll 1/2 Marathon in Vegas!
Ever since I started CrossFit, I have coworkers who rag on me about how it's not that impressive. The other day I was talking about handstand push-ups and one of the guys bet me he could do it. I assisted him in getting his feet against the wall and he promptly landed on his head.
Everyone is a critic.
Also, I posted a picture on Facebook of me push jerking 88 lbs, which for me was a huge accomplishment. I have a disorder in my arm that has always kept me from trying to push myself too far. My best friend, whom I've been close with for 10+ years now, was the only person to make a negative comment regarding my sweaty underarms. People sweat when they workout. And if you don't, I'd like to know how you do it.
Edit: I don't do CrossFit at work. I don't know why I typed "CrossFit at work." SMH.
Monday Randoms, here we go:
1) I just saw a show called "Freaky Eaters" and there was a lady on there who ate pounds and pounds of sweets. It made me want to gag! Now, I have a craving for sweets and instead I am making some plain tea with no sweetner at all in it.
2) I finished an 8k yesterday with an even slower time than the first one I did this year. The plus side of that is I am not as sore today as I was the day after the other one. Might even go running tonight!
3) Just got our mail for our city/permit stickers and DH's is $225 for the year and mine is $110. I think I am sticking to canned and bagged veggies and brown rice for some weeks. May have to cheapen up my protein for smoothies and shakes too. :: sad face ::
I just finished my highest-mileage week last week. Was awesome.
And now that I've found a great trail near my work, I'm dying to get a pair of shoes to run the trail with (my road shoes are okay, but I'd like something a little grippier. Trail tends to be muddy and slick).
Trail running makes for some epic bruises when you fall.
I'm considering signing up for a verrrrrry long race in September.
I'm wondering what my 10K time would look like on May 28 if I just didn't run at all between now and then.
My daughter's birthday is tomorrow and I don't want to go home and make her a cake, so I'm thinking about pulling the "we'll have your cake at your party Friday!" line, even though we ALWAYS have cake on the actual birthday in our house.
Yes,I'm smiling...I'm a marathoner!

I went for a run yesterday morning and was disappointed at how long it took me. I thought to myself, "It never takes me that long to run 6 miles". I was a bit bummed. I was afraid I was getting slower.
It turns out, I had run 8 miles not 6. I'm no longer disappointed.
WTH even more?! They should know better. Runners are known to be encouraging and supportive. These turds are bad ambassadors for the sport.

My taper madness has convinced me that I have strep throat.
Also my swim workout was cut short by 200 yards today because little one pooped herself pantless at the gym daycare.
Aforementioned taper madness has me convinced missing those 200 yards of swimming are going to make me drown on Sunday. Even though the swim is only 200 yards.
