Re: S/O: What's the longest you've been away from DH?

  • About 5 weeks when I went to take care of my mom. And he was left with the kid.

Soon to celebrate the day we met, even if the day before marks when we said goodbye.
  • 7 months. He was just gone for a month and left already for some more training. Deployments suck.

10 days.  Went to my parent's house for xmas since he is an employee of a retail store that never closes, including holidays, and got snowed in the day after xmas after being there a couple days already.  But we often go a week with just seeing one or the other sleeping in bed as we are coming/going
  • I did a 7 1/2 month deployment when I was still with XH, but he was on his way to being XH and I didn't miss him at all. It just about killed me being gone from DD that long when she was only 19 months.

With DH it's been about 2 1/2 months when he was OOT doing some contracting work for the DOD.

  • dating - 3 months (often, due to visas). over a 5 yr span of dating, I think. Since we've been married - probably 2.5 weeks when he went back to his home for his brother's wedding but I had to stay home and run the business since it was our busy season.

  • Total over 2 1/2 years. Longest time straight was 11 mo out of his 15 mo deployment. Two seperate 8 week training and then more. Army life. He's out now and the longest since he's been out is 5 days when I'm out of town

  • While we were dating I studied abroad.  He came to see me at Thanksgiving so it was almost exactly 3 months.  Then I worked in Boston for a summer and we only saw each other a couple of times, then I had a final year of school, but we got to see each other every few weeks.

Since we've been married the longest has been 5 days.

  • Let's see, he lived in Florida for the first year we were together, but once he moved back home, he travels for work and is gone any where from 6 weeks to 2 months at a time. 2 months straight was the most though.
