Re: Final Debate....
I am biased, but I 100% thought Obama "won". I can't imagine Romney being effective around the world after that performance. He said nothing of substance. Honestly, it was as if he were reciting a book report.
Of course, I was never going to vote for him, so I am curious as to what his supporters think. Spin free.
If anyone thought Romney impressed them, can you tell me why? I actually grew to like him even less with the last debate.
I said the exact same thing to DH! It's like Romney was trying to assure us that he'd read the wikipedia page on each country.
If there's one thing I've learned from my newsfeed: no matter what happens in a debate, conservatives think Romney won. The President clearly did better on substance and style. I'm not saying Romney tanked it, but he did not win.
Debate answers shouldn't consist of repeatedly referring people to your website. It's a debate, not a freaking infomercial. You have our undivided attention. Tell us what's on your website.
Wiinners- Bob Scheiffer and Chris Rock (for his tweets)
Losers- anyone who watched the debates hoping to gain useful info.
I actually heard some republican talking heads say, "well, Obama won on points, but I think Romney won on political gain." huh?? How does it help him to lose this debate? So ridiculous.
This is true. 90 minutes of my life I'll never get back. ::Grumble::grumble::
Romney: I'd like to state quite frankly that I support practically everything the president has done in regards to practically everything, except for the stuff I disagree with... if someone will only be so kind as to tell me what those positions happens to be today.
He must have mixed up his flash cards. Maps are hard.
ROMNEY: "Syria is Iran's only ally in the Arab world. It's their route to the sea."
THE FACTS: Iran has a large southern coastline with access to the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. And it has no land border with Syria.
Cut it out with the facts, lady! Don't you know this election is only about rhetoric?
Lol!
Romney: and also, this debate is not about hypotheticals! I'm not going to answer what I would hypothetically do if I were POTUS. Oh, wait...
I was actually wondering about this - is the Mediterranean Sea somehow more important to Iran than the Arabian Sea? That's the only thing I could think of that would make sense.
I was pretty irritated with both of them for not keeping on topic. Again.
It's painfully obvious that Romney knows very little about real world foreign policy and feels more comfortable talking about the economy.
Romney made me lol for real when he blurted out "This is not a hypothetical!" when his entire campaign is a hypothetical.
I don't like that they both like drones.
I was also irritated that they only focused on the Middle East and China when there are other areas in the world that need to be discussed.
I wasn't impressed with either of them by the end of the debate. Just annoyed.
This!!
hehe... I had 3 glasses of wine just to stomach him last night...
He makes my skin crawl.....
ITA. I was waiting for Romney to attack Obama on drones, it would have been one of the only issues where I agreed with Romney over Obama. But then he just agreed with Obama's use of drones.
Also, at one point Obama said something along the lines of, "...whether it be the middle east, or Iran, or Syria, or Afghanistan...."
Ditto! The fact that I disagree with almost all his views surely makes it harder for me to like him as a man, but his voice sounds like nails on a chalkboard to me. I don't get the appeal. At all.
lol, spoiler alert: It's Barack Obama.
Who cares about personality? Romney's *policies* change with the weather.
Because Romney is so very consistent?
The President failed to make a case, or defend his policies, period. All he could do was insult Gov. Romney, but as Romney said, "personal attacks are not an agenda". People bought into Obama's "hope and change" with ZERO details, now you want to buy into "I promised change, but I did not promise it tomorrow..." with holding him accountable for the last 4 years?
Governor Romney has a record that can be defended and he has an agenda and vision for the future. The President has, "I know I didn't get things done in the last 4 years but give me 4 more and I will" LOL Yet still no details but let's move FORWARD LOL
Politician and consistent is an oxymoron. At least Romney is a go-getter and understands the economy. Obama is an arrogant, lazy bast#ard who wants to be famous and is making things worse.
If you want more debt, more welfare, less jobs and a smaller military then I guess Obama is your man.
At least Obama knows that Iran does have a way to the sea besides going through Syria.
So there's that.
FTFY.
Seriously though, what are your thoughts in Romney's multiple personalities? You know, how he spent months disavowing Obama foreign policy stances and then spent the last debate agreeing with and paraphrasing them? Or how last night he said the surge worked when he previously pandered to Republicans by saying it did not. I could go on and on. LMK!
This is so ridiculous I can't even form a response.
Oh the irony of knocking Obama's Hope & Change for a lack of details yet lauding Romney's detail-less vision and agenda. And heralding Romney's 8-10 year vague economic plan while constantly knocking Obama for not getting it done in 4 years.
You do see how that is a bit silly, no?
So you blame Obama but give Romney a free pass? Do you see how wildly inconsistent you are?
It would've been much much shorter if Romney would've just said "What he said" or "Ditto" or "This" everytime Obama spoke.
It was happening anyway, but with more words.
Romney explains way more than Obama. Obama has been president and can't even pass a budget. Why? Because he just wants to spend. He doesn't give a rat's a#s about this country.
I'm going to WORK now....bah byeee!
Gotta agree on the drones. Sadly, I feel like we will never have a presidential candidate who comes out against them. I was a big Clinton supporter, despite the fact that some seriously sh!tty stuff went down on foreign soil under his watch. Obama is far better than Romney, but I hate his drone support.
This!
I'm still lil buzz from last night.
