Re: Happy Friday :)What are you reading?

  • I'm reading Phantom of the Opera. I'm only10% into it- it's okay. It's #18 of my goal of 25.  This past week I started and finished Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I really enjoyed it! I've finally jumped on the Harry Potter bandwagon!
Phantom of the Opera is one of my all-time favourites! I hope you enjoy it.

  • I'm reading The Little Stranger, #25 for the year.  It's for my book club.  I didn't know if I was going to like this one, but I'm actually enjoying it quite a bit.  I like the feel of it.  Kind of reminds me of Rebecca.

  • I'm reading the Hippopotamus Pool, it is #57 for the year and it's pretty good so far, I haven't had a lot of time to dedicate to it.

I'm listening to Under The Dome, it is #58 for the year and it is so great!  It's disturbing and I don't want to stop listening to it and I totally hate Jim Reny.

  • The Lullaby of Polish Girls. It's alright so far... the main thing I'm loving about it is all of the Polish words thrown in. I'm a little more than half done. It's #18.

  • I'm reading Surrender to Sultry on my phone. I'm liking it so far. It's not for any challenges.

Mom didn't really care for Jellicoe Road. She gave The Shoemaker's Wife 3 thumbs up. Right now she's reading Les Mis.

The other day I noticed that my reading goal for this year is 100 books. =))  I think I've ready MAYBE 10 books so far this year. I'll be happy if I get through 25, but I'm not really keeping track.

I'm a quarter of the way through The Shadow Rising by Robert Jordan.  It's been slow going, mostly because I usually read a lot at lunch but my intern has been eating lunch with me so I don't want to be rude.  Today is his last day, though.  Sadness!  He's been a good intern.

  • I am reading The Heist and Last Sacrifice.  I'm liking them both so far.  No challenges or anything this summer.  I'm reading a lot of easy, chick lit this summer.  These are #63 and 64 for the year.

  • I'm reading (and LOVING) Me Before You.  Such a great book!  I know I'm reading this later than a lot of you, but to anyone who has not read this, add it to your list!

It's 30/52 for the year.. I'm a little bit behind but hoping to catch up soon.

  • Yesterday I finished reading Mariana and listening to The Firebird.  (125-126).  They were both so phenomenal that I can't decide what to start.  I think I'll listen to Stories I Only Tell My Friends by Rob Lowe - so different it won't suffer in comparison.

Also, I still have The Rose Garden to listen to, but is it weird that I am planning on saving it for a while?  I don't want to have read all of Susanna Kearsley. Thanks so much to whoever recommended her. @revjen maybe?
  • I didn't finish Siege & Storm before it was due back to the library, so I returned it this week and put my name back on the hold list. In the meantime, I picked up and got through the first chapter or so of The Golden Lily.

  • I'm reading a free book I got for the Kindle Pride's Prejudice by Misty Dawn Pulsipher.  I'm about halfway through it and it's okay I guess.  I wouldn't read it again.

I only started reading it because I needed something free to read.

But it's annoying me because the female lead (the Elizabeth Bennet knockoff) is in constant need of rescuing and of course the knockoff of Mr. Darcy is always there somehow.

  • I'm reading Mariana by Susanna Kearsley and I'm having to *make* myself put down the Kindle to drive and do other things.

I'm still listening to Top Dog by Po Bronson and Ashley Merryman, but slowly. My brain can't take in all the detail right now.

  • I'm reading Out of Africa by Isak Dinesen/Baroness Karen von Blixen-Finecke and Drop Dead Healthy by A.J. Jacobs.
  • I'm a lurker testing if I can post from my phone and I may come out of lurkdom if I can.

I'm reading The Maze Runner. I'm only 3 chapters in and thoroughly confused but intrigued. #39

I'm listening to The Lost Symbol. It's a re-read so I don't count it toward my number.
