...And I loved her. I am actually handling this 3T thing pretty well; she gave me a lot of advice that I've already been trying to follow. We're going to work on my anxiety in social situations (I live in fear of the "We're pregnant!" announcements), and we're going to work through some of the issues I have with ILs and their lack of support, especially since SIL is pregnant.
One of the things I found most helpful is that I'm not being a biitch when I tell people, "We're going through a really rough time, and I'd appreciate it if we didn't talk about pregnancy right now." She told me that I can't worry about everyone else's feelings, and really, I'm saving them from saying hurtful things, especially because they don't mean to hurt my feelings.
Highlights from our conversation:
-Any IF diagnosis is devastating and life-altering. Don't diminish your feelings, even if you're in the beginning stages of treatment.
-You go through grief every month.
-Consider advocating for IVF soon. It's something I've been thinking about, as this is my 4th round of Clomid. She suggested that I start thinking about what to do if this cycle fails, even though it would only be our 2nd IUI. 3T is mentally and emotionally exhausting, and IVF has better success rates with unexplained.

"People talk about escapism as if it's a bad thing... Once you've escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn't have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality."
