I want another dog too. I just don't want it to learn the bad habits that my dog has now, so we'll wait. I regularly think about what I want... a little black mutt from the pound, preferably that doesn't shed much. I'd love a pitt/lab mix, but on the small side. If it is a girl, her name will be Daisy* and a boy, Porter.
*H doesn't agree with my name choices.
This is like 5 years off. I just like fantasizing about it.

yeah my IL's live on a farm and our dogs go there every day to play so they aren't cooped up in our house.
my husband would love another dog. my FIL would kill us if we brought another dog to the farm for doggy daycare everyday not that I really care...but they have 3 dogs and my BIL brings his two over.
the dogs outnumber the people most of the time.

If you adopt him/her, be prepared for crazy energy and insane amounts of hair. Our neighbors have a husky/GSD mix, and you should see the fur tufts that come off her in the spring. The yard starts to look like someone blew up a fur factory. HAHA!

That's the part I don't think I could handle. I actually really want a 2nd dog, but the thought of having the fur from a Collie and a Husky at the same time? I would lose my own hair!
