Mine is 10 minutes exactly. It's glorious.  My last alarm was 7 and it drove me nuts to have to do sleep-in math every morning.

I suppose I could have just... you know... got up, but I'm not exactly a morning person.

  • MH and I are going to Niagara Falls for the night on Sunday for our anniversary and I can't wait! I'm excited to get away, though I may not even leave the room. I'll just park my butt in the Jacuzzi for 24 hours.

  • I'm SO HAPPY that high-waist pants are coming back. I was not a fan of the low rise. Not exactly the most flattering cut for me.

  • I would like to change my pet peeve from yesterday ... from slow pokes in the left lane to putting children on leashes. What is that?!? Even though they make the leash "cute" monkeys or elephants ... Seriously? Come on! Your child is not a dog.

  • Oh.  I have a random pet peeve that happened in the bathroom this morning:  when toilet paper touches the floor in a public bathroom.  I always rip it off and flush it.  I don't mind leaving some hanging but not until it reaches the floor.

Public Bathroom Floor Touching TP will not come into contact with my hiney.  And don't tell me about airborne germs and stuff.  I don't want to hear it.

  • I don't mind the kid leashes, although I used to think they were ridiculous.  If you've got a runner, it's safer for everyone involved.  For example, my coworker's younger son (2 and a half) is very frenetic, and it keeps him from running out into traffic.  The little bugger is FAST and they keep a good eye on him but short of carrying him at all times or strapping him to a stroller, that's the best solution.  It also preserves our exhibits at the museum if rambunctious kids are kept in check.

I think everyone thinks kid leashes are ridiculous... until they have a toddler who decides it would be super fun to take off running in the middle of the mall/store/street/airport/whatever. Then all of a sudden they seem like the most brilliant invention ever.

I will fully admit to judging people who used leashes in my pre-kids days. Now that I have a toddler who randomly takes off full speed as fast as he can, I totally understand why people use them! I have never used it with Jack because he's gotten much better but we definitely considered it and I don't judge anymore.

I used to be one of these people. But yeah, now my mantra is "never say never". And also, I DGAF what other people do with their kids as long as they're not endangering them.

  • I'm enjoying this newborn phase with Brynne so much more than I did with Jack and that makes me feel incredibly guilty. I was just so nervous with him and he was more high maintenance. I'm much more relaxed this time around.

I want to wear yoga pants all the time.

I can't get into Breaking Bad despite everyone trying to get me hooked. Meh.

I LOVE DH and all and adore our family vaca- but I am on vaca with just the girls next week and I will admit- it is my favorite week of the year. Just us. We get to do all the girly stuff we love and I cherish every minute alone with them.

I'll admit I've judged people who use them. Sorry. BUT I don't judge them as much as people who let their kids have a pacifier till they are walking/ talking. If your kid has to take out his/her pacifier to ask you something (and can speak full sentences) then it's time to throw out the binkie folks!
