DISCLAIMER: My DH is in no way an ignorant homophobe. He is ignorant about many things, but not this. lol
In the "what do you think we are known for" post, Skeezon mentioned that she didn't think there were many lesbians on this board. This made me giggle to myself because my uncultured, sweet idiot of a DH thinks that we are all lesbians. He actually calls NBC my "Lesbian Book Club". I don't know where he got the stupid notion that the only women who participate in book clubs are lesbians, but, there you have it.
Re: S/O Lesbians
Yeah, I am realizing that now. I apologize if my sharing this offended anyone.
My sense of humor is a little more advanced than just randomly calling people lesbians.
Maybe I should have titled it, My DH is a stereotypical jackass?
After thinking about this, I want to apologize for my own reaction as well. I kind of rolled my eyes and laughed it off, after telling DH that he was a dingbat if he really thought that. I should have handled it differently.
Now I am going to go home and chew his ass, because by sharing his comments, my favorite ladies now think I am an ignorant redneck!
If my husband said that to me, I would respond, "Yes, I'm a lesbian and that's why we will no longer be having sex." I would imagine that would shut him up pretty quickly.
Yeah, this was more what I was thinking when he said it. Thank you for letting me know that you weren't offended. Of course, I am still sorry that it offended so many others.
After seeing the reaction on here, I called my Aunt to see if she was offended (you know, because as a lesbian she is able to speak for the entire community). She thought it was funny too, but she knows my husband.
I totally admit I chuckled at this. Of course I never thought that your husband was being serious.
