  I took her to a stupid training class at petsmart. It was a waste of money. She is my first dog ever and I didn't train her, I should have. I got her when she was 8weeks old and I could have trained her but I didn't and I regret it so much. She's still a good dog and everything but she is strong and pulls me. She is also not great around other dogs. She wont do anything to them but she wants to bark and I feel like she gets in defense mode.
  
  The great thing is that she's great with kids since she grew up with my nephews but I wish I could train her to be the perfect dog and I know with time I probably can but being so pregnant its not easy right now.

  You can definitely still train her, I would go with a real trainer instead of Pet Smart! I have a 14 year old golden retriever that was trained when she was 12 to stay in the yard. Before we finally had her trained she would frequently tour the neighborhood.

  I will have to look into it because I want her to be with me for ever. I need to start asking around to see if anyone recommends a trainer.

  Hey don't knock petsmart training! Lol that's what we did and Chloe is very well trained! Well, except pulling on the leash.

  Lol sorry. I only did the beginners class and since we didn't do the private class she wanted to sniff and bark at the other dogs and well we didn't get any training done.

  @Bridget I second the gentle leader. I got it for one of my dogs, who used to pull to the point of choking himself, and its the only thing that worked. I didn't have to use it for more than a few weeks and now he walks fine even without it. Right now he just gets a regular harness to walk in, but I used to use the gentle leader and harness (he can pull out of his collar because his head is smaller than his neck).

  Question for you though.... if you're worried about her pulling you down the steps, what are you doing right now when your DH isn't home?
