Weekend Reading

So, what books did you start/finish/make good progress on/totally neglect this weekend (though I know it's not technically over for most of us)?

Re: Weekend Reading

  • Zip, zero, nada. I brought Gone Girl with me to hopefully read, but it didn't happen.

I did start listening to The Sea of Tranquility. I'm liking it just as much as reading it.
    Books Read in 2016: 4/50

  • I finished Too Good to Be True by Kristan Higgins last night. I'm probably going to start The Hunger Games today since I haven't read them. My friend wants me to go see the second movie with her. I've heard really good things so I hope I don't have them too built up in my head.

  • I read Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover yesterday. I loved it. I am not a religious person so I skimmed over the religious passages but I am in love with the plan. We had learned all we could online trying to skip buying the book but I found it at good will for $.99 and I couldn't pass it up.

@alyssaames my husband and I started this when we got married in 2006 and I credit him for helping us so much. We have no debt except for mortgage and student loan thanks to his plan. Plus we are saving for the future. It's awesome.
  • I've read about 100 pages in Out of the Easy. It's really good, and I would have liked to have read more, but we actually did stuff this weekend, plus I had school work to do. Hopefully I'll get to finish it in the next couple days.

  • I finished Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi. I loved the first book and was a little disappointed at first. It took me a little bit of reading before I really got into it, but I ended up liking it a lot.

  • I made some real progress in The Secret History of the War on Cancer by Devra Davis.  Riveting, right?  It's actually really good, even if it does have me convinced that I and everyone I know will inevitably get cancer one of these days.
