  • I finally picked up Under the Dome again this week and have been making some good progress on it during nap time.

It's #26 (out of 25) for the year.

I'm reading Surrender to Sulty (#37, I think for the year) and listening to Let's Explore Diabetes with Owls by David Sedaris (#38)

They are both just for my yearly challenge and I'm liking them so far.  I'm still not on the Colt train yet but I'm 35% in so we'll see what happens!

    :)

  • I just started Gone Girl last night. Crossing my fingers in hope that I don't regret this...
I write sexy books. I read all the books. I love dresses & macarons.

  • Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella.  Like all of her books, it's fluffy and mindless, but fun.  After this I'll start Donna Tartt's The Secret History, which sounds a bit like Dead Poet's Society but with secret society drama.

  • AW: I just realized that I made my goal! 150 books this year.

    HOLY CRAP!

    CONGRATS!

Swan Song by Robert McCammon - I like it but I feel like it is a total rip-off of The Stand.

On Hallowed Ground: The Story of Arlington National Cemetery by Robert M. Poole - very interesting and well written so far.

Books 56 and 57 for the year.

Every time you have mentioned Swan Song @booneybear, I keep singing Thong Song in my head.

  • Just started Mind Games for the PNR reading. I'm actually liking it a lot, it's a pretty interesting concept for a story.

I'm also flopping between that and Magic Bites.

  • I'm reading Moll Flanders and listening to Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman.  Both are for SuBC.  I'm really loving Neverwhere and I'm really interested in how it will end.  Moll Flanders is ok so far, antiquated english can be hard to get into sometimes. Later on today I will be finally starting The Firebird by Susanna Kearsley.

Listening to NOS4A2. So great. Highly recommend it! But it's way longer than I'd like it to be.

I'm about to re-read Gone Girl. Yup, I love it that much.
  • Until You're Mine on my ereader and listening to Angry Conversations With God in my car.

Share with us what you think of it!!!! Mockingjay has such vastly different responses from people I'm always excited to hear what people's opinions are.
  • I'm reading The Reservoir, a post-Civil War era murder mystery. I've only got about 80 pages left and I have no idea what to expect.
  • btw- I'm totally not 78 weeks pregnant. Stupid siggy won't update.

  • I'm late to the party, but I want to play anyway.  I'm listening to Me Before You by Jojo Moyes.  It's okay.  I mean, I like it, but I'm not blown away or anything.  Maybe it'll get better.  I said the other day that I think Lou is a dumb-dumb and Will is a dick.  I'm coming around a bit to Lou in the past day or so, but so far, Will is still a dick.  And I still hate his whole family.  I love the narrator, though.  Her voice and accent is so soothing.

I'm reading The Secret History of the War on Cancer by Devra Davis.  I have such mixed feelings.  I'm glad that I'm reading it, and it's really eye opening.  In that way, I'm enjoying it.  But it's damn scary, and extremely frustrating and sort of pisses me off.  To learn about all of the cover ups and misinformation that has been out there for so, so long, and how much more information is and has always been known about causes of cancer while "the public" is kept in the dark and mislead about it all is sort of horrifying.  That it has always been in the name of money is maybe more disturbing.  The book is fascinating and well-written, but it leaves me with ne anxieties and fears every time I put it down.  It's also overdue by a week now, so I need to step up my pace and get it finished.
  • This morning I finished:

Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein

    Fallout by Todd Strasser

These are #134 and 135 toward my goal of 200 books. I'm counting Code Name Verity as my historical fiction pick for the genre challenge.

  • I'm reading UK HP3 (physical) and Shadow and Bone (Kindle).  I'm listening to Heaven and Earth by NR for the thousandth time, I think.

I'm not sure how I feel about Shadow and Bone yet but I'm not quite 40% into it yet.

  • I am reading Shadow and Bone and am LOVING it!  The first 30-40 pages I felt so lost as to WTF this world was and how it worked, but then it just all clicked and I am totally into it.

I feel like I'm figuring it all out as Alina does.  I haven't gotten that AHA moment yet.

  • I finished Insurgent last night.  I was going to get the first Outlander for my Kindle, but freaked when it was $6.  I think I'm going to see if it'll pop up on daily deals.  It's actually stressing me out, not having a series to read.  I think I'm going to spend the weekend reading smutty chic-lit books then start something Monday.
