FRIDAY CONFESSIONS

Re: FRIDAY CONFESSIONS

  • I am leaving work at noon today!  And then Myjunegirls and I are going to go and try to molest Stephen King tonight.
Do you have enough bail money or do we need to start a collection?

  • This morning at daycare dropoff, as I was leaving, I witnessed Ally's attempt to pull herself together - deep breaths, swallowing sobs, telling her daycare lady "Mama's comin back later. Mama's comin back to get me."

It ripped my heart right out of my chest.  SO much worse than just her normal crying and screaming for me.

I've been too much of a pussy to talk to my boss about moving out of my mid-level management position to part time.  I am being a lazy ass who just thinks everything is going to magically fall into place the way I want it.  I think this morning may have snapped me out of it.

  • Our plan was always for me to be a SAHM and I will continue to be one until A goes to school.  However, I really wish I could contribute to the household income SOMEHOW.  I feel like part of the reason we are stuck in this stupid house is because we don't have enough money to get us out of our mortgage and into something better.  It's like reverse mommy guilt.

  • @84Lauren Jack has struggled with me leaving for work for a long time but never was it more torture on me than when he could talk. The things he says breaks my heart. It's like he is trying to convince himself " mommy comes back, mommy always comes back." it is so hard. I would give anything to be able to stay at home. My maternity leave ends in November and I am already a mess about it. At least Brynne is still little- it is still so hard to leave her but IMO it makes it 150x worse that Jack can articulate what goes on. Heartbreaking.

  • I want to bitch slap the substitute zumba instructor.  She screams uplifting messages as we exercise.  Last night during Beyonce's Run the World she kept screaming COME ON,LADIES!  WE RUN THE WORLD!! Seriously, lady?  Just shut up.  I've walked out of her class before because she annoys me so much.

Similar-but when I go to the doctor and they tell me over and over again what a great job I'm doing laying still over & over again (especially when there's more than one person doing it) or what not I just want to tell them to shut up too. It's much more distracting to me vs just saying it once and then just giving me little updates when you're almost done.

Whether or not you find your own way, you're bound to find some way. If you happen to find my way, please return it, as it was lost years ago. I imagine by now it's quite rusty.”

  • @nocturnalintimacy Even if I went part time I would have to find/pay for childcare which would defeat bringing home a paycheck.  I want to get paid for reading.

  • I went to where I worked before I became a SAHM this morning to drop off some clothes for a former coworker. It was weird.

Slightly depressing. I don't miss the place, the drama, or the people for the most part. I do miss the adult interaction. I'm completely happy with our decision for me to SAH (hello, yoga pants!) but I miss the chatter that comes with working in an office as opposed to kid chatter.

Oh man. That just broke my heart Lauren. It's SO SO hard when they start expressing themselves like that. I hated leaving Sammie on those mornings at daycare. Ugh. Hugs momma.

  • @84Lauren OMG I don't even know.

For the first month of kindergarten Sophie didn't want to go.  Every day she'd ask to stay home, pretend sick, hide under her covers, anything.  She says she doesn't have any friends and told the room mother she doesn't have anyone to talk to.  :(  Most of the kids went to the same preschool, and already know each other.

I think it's starting to get better.  She talks about the other kids in her class now, and while she isn't excited to go to school like she was with preschool, she doesn't ask to stay home anymore.

  • @84Lauren, that breaks my heart too! I can't imagine how that had to feel. Good luck getting things to where you want them with work.

  • I called in sick today to hang out with three kids. The 4-year old was home all day anyway because her preschool is only Tues-Thurs. The 9- and 6-year olds had dentist appointments at 9 and their mom just let them have the day off because she had to get back to work and they didn't get out of the dentist until 12.

So. I watched them from 7 am to 5 pm. It was the best day ever.
