Thursday Randoms

Re: Thursday Randoms

  • I have a sad random.  We're taking my kitty to the vet Saturday morning and it looks like he's going to have to be put to sleep.  He's 18 and I've had him since I was 12.  He's my baby and honestly almost like a sibling (don't laugh).  We grew up together.  I'm heartbroken.
:o(  The most important thing is that he knows just how much you love him.

It's raining today. I took our new dog, Patrick, out this am before I left for work. He did not do his business. The second I brought him back in the house, he walked into my husband's office and pooped on the floor. I guess he doesn't like the rain.
Mia does this when she's upset. She, also, won't walk on the grass if it's wet.
    Pumpkin too.

  • I watched two people make a love connection on the train while on my way into work.  They totally hit it off, exchanged numbers, and made googly eyes at each other when she had to get off the train.  She looked back twice and he watched her walk away the whole time.
    Like a John Hughes movie.

I thought I must be really ignorant or out of it that I didn't know what #3 and mini bananas are. Thank you fellow NBCers for making me not feel like a complete moron today.

In other news I want to rip my upper management's faces off. Sorry for the nice visual. I've put 11 months into a mandatory agency-wide project and they now want to delay it because people here are too stupid to figure out what software they use on a daily basis. I don't make the rules, I'm just doing my damn job. I've also offered to do everyone else's jobs because I'm over this project. But no, that's not an option either.

  • @julie37619 - I'm so sorry.  It sucks when pets get old.  Pets should always be part of the family, you should never have to justify your feelings for a pet.  {{hugs}}

  • It's been a bad week. I'm ready for Thanksgiving food. And then I want to put my tree up.

Also my cats have been adorable lately and it's like they know I need the cute.

  • So, my life has been a big whirlwind since my friend's 6yo was diagnosed with a DIPG tumor. A group of us are doing a lot of fundraising and general organizing and help for the family. While it has been a ton of work, and will continue to be a ton of work, and the diagnosis is absolutely devastating, this journey is renewing some of my faith in humanity. In three weeks, we have raised over $30k. There is so much support and love for this little girl.

And I'm in awe over where some of the support is coming from. People who do not know the family or any of us at all are sending love, prayers, and helping in any way they can. Complete strangers.

Today some of us had lunch together, and a group in a booth near us were looking at the phone, and we were surprised to see Jennifer's picture - they were looking at the family's website and blog. My friend asked them if they were friends of the family, and they said no, they had heard her story on Facebook. This woman was tearing up for a family she does not know.

I'm rambling, but it just warms my completely broken heart. I am alternately so so so ANGRY at the world, at God, at everything, and then joyous over the good in people.

I am so, so sorry.  I love my cats like children and I dread this day coming.  Big hugs to you.

  • My random is that I saw a woman dressed like she was going to a club or a rave this afternoon, and she was 80 years old if she was a day.  Rock on, granny.

I also have new slippers, so my feets can haz warms.

@julie37619 That is so sad :( And I can definitely see how he would be like a sibling to you, you've had him over half of your life and you grew up together. I am so sorry. Losing a pet is one of the worst feelings, especially since you can't explain anything to them. I felt so guilty when we had to put our doggie to sleep, even after we tried all the treatment options available. I am so sorry and here if you want to talk.

@julie37619 I'm so sorry.  Losing a pet IS like losing a family member.  Been there. Hugs, my friend.
