  • And for the record, I never liked that there were two shades of brown M&Ms. I campaigned hard for the blue ones. It was probably my first bit of civic activism. Vote Blue!

They still sell Surge in Norway, complete with the same label design. As "Urge." You can find it in just about every grocery or corner store. So if anyone wants some...
OMG I would totally take you up on this but I know that just to ship a few Christmas presents to my sister in England it was going to be like $80 so an entire case of soda from Norway seems excessive. BUT WANT.

I usually carry a mostly empty suitcase when I travel to the US, because I'm more interested in bringing things back! Next time I'm headed home maybe I'll toss a few bottles in my luggage and I can send them when I get there. :)

  • So wait... what ARE Trix shaped as?  I thought they were shaped like fruit.  Are they just balls?

They were just colored balls when I was a kid.

  • I miss Clearly Canadian like whoa.  I loved the Planter's Cheezy Poofs, too.

  • Crispy M&M's are still available in Australia.  And we have Crispy Mint M&M's.

The only other thing on the list I am really sorry about is the Crystal Pepsi.  I really miss that.

  • I used to love those Planter's cheese balls. I think we used to sneak them in to movie theaters for a snack. I remember having the Squeezits around a lot too, maybe at soccer games or something.

Does anyone else remember New York Seltzers? I used to love those as a kid. Are they still around?

  • Oh man, I loved PB Crisps sooooo much!

I also liked those! According to Wikipedia (which is my Bible), they have been gone since the early 1990s.

  • There were so many of these foods that I hadn't thought about in so long but of the list I probably have the strongest memory of drinking the Hi-C Ecto Cooler!

I didn't care that there were two brown colors.  I didn't get why they had to replace one.  Why couldn't they have just added the blue to the bag?

    My favorite Cake Wreck ever.

  • I voted for the blue M&Ms as well, but I wish they would have gotten rid of the brown instead of the tan. For some reason those were my favorites, lol.

I wonder if I can have crispy M&Ms shipped here from Australia?? I seriously still wish I had some on a regular basis.

    Deals can be made.
Especially if I can make it a quid pro quo for things I miss from the US.

  • My H and I still talk about Crispy M&Ms from time to time. Miss them.

Otherwise, I really liked the Oreo Os cereal and sour altoids. I have some incredible memories of my dad chucking cheez balls into the air and catching them in his mouth & me trying the same thing (as a 5 year old) only to have them bounce off my head. Sometimes he threw them towards my mouth and I held super still hoping they'd go in.... sometimes they did. *sighs*  I need cheez ball memories with my kids. Why aren't Bugles on the list?

I'm pretty sure I've bought Rice Crispy Treats cereal at our regular grocery within the last year.

  • Tan m&ms were always my favorite. My theory was that chocolate should be brown. I had a dislike of blue for a few years.

I loved Ecto Cooler and the kookaid squeezits.

I had no idea that Trix are fruit shaped.

  • Sprinkle spangles, French toast crunch, and fruitopia also played roles in my childhood.
