You're superwoman to me. The fact that you can wake up at 4am from a warm and cozy bed on a freezing day to go to the gym deserves a medal.  ::bows down to Booney::
@Hoycie I have little choice when Buddy is barking and whining his head off downstairs.  Although I did get an extra 10 minutes at the gym this morning.

I'm 99.9% sure a coworker blocked me on FB.  My confession is that I'm kinda offended.

All I did was send a friend request.  I don't know what I did to make them so angry that would warrant a blocking.  Just choose ignore if you don't want to be FB friends.  They are friends with other coworkers so now I'm paranoid & mad at myself for being offended & paranoid.

I keep people in Friend Request Purgatory so that I don't offend them.  There's about 24 people in purgatory right now.
Yup.  Those poor souls in my Friend Request Purgatory.

lol!!! I'm glad that I passed your purgatory!   :P

One of my co-workers, constantly talks over me or interrupts me when I'm speaking to someone else.  He did this morning when I was talking to one of our sales guys about something and he basically talked over the both of us and said the exact same thing I had already said.  I cut him off and said "I know I just said that." I was a complete bitch but I'm over being disrespected and maybe I'm over reacting but it comes off in this you're a woman I'm a man I know more than you way.

One of my coworkers does this to me and my other female coworkers all the time. I just stop talking and walk away, even if I'm talking with my boss (who luckily gets it and many times has told him to leave when we're talking). I'm not going to stand around while you disrespect me.

It's 58 in our house again and we called the real estate agent again.  When DH told them, they asked us at what temperature our thermostat was set.  Really?  Do we seem like idiots?

I'm wearing knee high socks with fuzzy socks over them, have on slippers, leggings, fleece pants, a turtleneck, and a hoodie.  If they can't get our heat to function properly they need to let us have another cat.

I reconnected with an old college friend recently, and yesterday had her and her daughter over for a playdate. It was fun, and I had a good time, but I remember now maybe some of the things that made me stop talking with her.

We had our yearly audit this week.  I've been working with two other people this week for it and they just went out to lunch with the auditors and I wasn't invited. I know I'm not management, but it's not like I didn't do a ton of work for it.  I'm kind of bummed.

ETA: Now my J has bailed on me for lunch. UGH.

Because now that you're grown up, you have more standards for what you want in a friend, and you are less willing to deal with other people's bullshit if you don't have to.

Whenever I drive through your town, I think of you guys. Maybe one day I'll either A) call you and B) make DH stop by but I feel really weird just popping in on people.

  • Kind of related to making and keeping friends as an adult...I often don't make IRL friends because I am absolutely overwhelmed by the thought of having to make "small talk". I will dread an upcoming dinner date with a friend, because I agonize over making conversation. I don't know what's wrong with me that I can't just freaking  let it go. I love my friends, I am interested in them, but I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY IN PERSON.

This is also why I hate the phone.

I end up so stressed out about what to talk about, I can't enjoy any of the time spent with the person. The pressure I put on myself is too much, and I end up being relieved if plans are cancelled, or making my own excuses to cancel. This is why I would make a great hermit, and why internet friends are awesome.

I feel you.  I have no problem chatting with people I'm comfortable with, but the awkward starting new friendship conversations is SO hard.

I was so thankful for @duxcaelo at our first NE GTG.  She's so good at making conversation!

A and I have a monthly playdate with a friend from grade school and her son (a couple months younger than A).  I told my mom months ago that she and I have nothing in common anymore other than the fact that we are mothers.  Our parenting style/life style is completely different.  The kids like playing but that's about all we have in common.

  • I just bought a retirement card for my best friends dad for his Naturalization party tonight!

BUT it is perfect! Here is my rationalization hahaha he 1. retired his green card and 2. it says something about enjoying your freedom...he is now a US Citizen ;-)

Go ahead and judge but I am laughing I think this is GREAT! (and her dad will love it and think it is funny hahaha)
