@sgautschi - Zack was 5 mo when he was sitting pretty reliably unassisted. As far as my two, they are 29 mo apart. I nursed Delilah until 15 mo and didn't get my first pp period until I fully weaned. We started trying right after that and it took us 5 mo to get our BFP.

I really love their age difference. Delilah was old enough when zack was born to understand things, be out of diapers, moved into her big girl room far enough in advance to Zack coming so she didn't feel like she was being kicked out of her crib, and old enough for us to re-use all the baby related items we had without having to have move them in and out of storage or buy another (I feel if she were younger we may have needed a few baby related items she may have been using still.). Plus she adores him and is semi helpful - gets diapers, rags, etc when we ask. Zack is also fascinated with her. And I hope they're close enough in age that they'll play together for a while.

@dangermuffin23 - I don't know that I was ever terrified of labor and delivery. Maybe scared that I wouldn't know when to go for sure and I'd get sent home. I also had moments towards the end where I was like, oh shit this baby has to come out and wondering if i could go med free like i wanted, but they didn't last. I was more excited to find out if I was having a boy or girl too since I was team green both times.

I was totally calm about labor and delivery. The thought of it never scared me at all. I went into it with the mindset that I wanted to try to go natural, but wasn't opposed to an epidural. I made it to 7 cm before getting the epi. I was having awful back labor and just couldn't get comfortable.

Totally normal. Your baby has lots of space to swim around and that makes it tricky to find and keep the heartbeat consistently on the Doppler. My almost 38 week old fetus even managed to get away from the Doppler last week. BPM isn't super important, but it gives the an idea of how baby's doing. There is a normal range that they look for.

I only get BPM if I ask. Also, totally normal. My midwife plays hide and seek with him every.single.appointment.

Lexi started sitting unassisted at 4 months, but she was also falling over a minute or so into sitting alone. She did sit for longer periods around 5/6 months without falling over.

For those that are SAHM, what was your biggest reason for making your decision? I have been working before Lexi was born, and started working again at 12 weeks PP, but went back part time. At that time, I could not stay at home as I was the one making more money than my H. My grandmother stayed with her until last January when she started daycare. With this LO, I was going to bring him to the daycare where Lexi goes to, but there is this part of me that either wants to go part time, or stay home until LO goes to preschool. I know I have a ways to go, but DH even mentioned if I really want to stay home, I could now... the only thing that's really holding me back is the amazing health coverage I have. I really don't want to get rid of it.

All of this. My OB had to chase LO at my 28 week appt because he kept avoiding the doppler.

@smbenevides1989 I've always wanted to be a SAHM. I only got an associates degree in college because I knew that I didn't want a career. Other deciding factors were that we would be paying almost as much for child care as I was making. We also could live on only DH's salary.

@smbenevides1989 I always knew I wanted to be a SAHM but we didn't think it was in the cards. Well we figured out daycare would basically eat up my salary since minimum wage or close to it is what I could make but we were going to try to make it work with family members and stuff. Well, DH got the opportunity to advance himself and went to CDL school and now he is making more than we were making combined.

I really enjoy staying home. I love being the one that is teaching her everything

I am happy now because I am going to enroll her in a music and movement class for spring and preschool over the summer so I need to be able to run her around and if I was working and she was in daycare it wouldn't be quite so easy.

@smbenevides1989 I had actually planned on going back to work (even though I didn't want to) so that we would have the extra income, but my employer wouldn't work with me to come back part-time, so we decided I would SAH.

I'm so happy I did. I really enjoy having the time to really clean the house, keep up on bills, and get lots of time with LO. I also am able to go back to school now, so overall it worked out really well for us.
