Re: FRIDAY CONFESSIONS

  • I had my annual lady business appointment on Tuesday and Monday night realized "OH SHIT I haven't shaved in like 3 months!"

I didn't have any good razors and didn't feel like going to the store that late, so I used DH's electric razor.

So, about my vague "what would you buy with $100 on Amazon" response the other day . . .
Check out my new siggy ticker.  I would buy either a new infant carseat, because the one I had for Tatum sucked, or a new breastpump because the one I had for Tatum died.  Those are the only two big things I will need for this child - anyone care to recommend either?

CONGRATS!  We used the Graco Snug Ride 35 car seat and I loved it.
For the breast pump, I have the Ameda Purely Yours. I don't love it, but then again, I don't think I'd love any of them...

    Yay!  Congrats!!!!!!

As for carseats, we have a Maxi-Cosi because it goes with our stroller, and it sucks big time.  Stay far away.  We also have a Graco, which was like half the price, ten times easier to install and use, and is rated for a higher weight so it lasted longer.  I've heard that the Chicco Keyfit is so awesome it spoils you for all carseats ever after, but I've never used one.

For BPs, I am going to get a new one too so I'll be watching for recs.

  • I spent over $300 on a pair of shoes and I don't regret it for a second.  Of course this means that I will have to wear them in the state nursing home every day as I sit in my wheelchair in the hallway drooling and yelling at all the people who come and go.
Are these the taxi shoes?  If not, we need a pic of the hot shoes. @booneybear

  • It was so cold in the shower at our house last night that I only shaved one leg because I couldn't stand the cold anymore.  I should be embarrassed, but I really don't care.
  • My current favorite pair of shoes are hand-me-downs from my sister.  She bought them back when she was in high school.  They're at least eight years old and perfectly worn in.  No shame.

  • Congrats @SusieBW

We had the Chicco KeyFit 30. No complaints.

For a pump I had the Medela Pump In Style Advanced. It was recommended by my SILs and best friend. It worked just fine. Even used it off of batteries in the car a few times. It's not cheap though.

  • My hair is really long, like halfway down my back.  I want to cut it short (think chin length) but I'm afraid.  I haven't been short since maybe 2009?

We have the Chicco KeyFit 30 and I loved it as well.  It's SO easy to use.  I hated my pump, it was the one my insurance company provided for free and it was terrible.  I don't even remember what brand it was.

    Congrats @SusieBW!

@MrsC7 Yes, it was the Kate Spade Taxi shoes.  Back to cheap Target shoes now.

I have a pair of shoes that are 12 years old and I absolutely adore them.  They're a comfy and broken-in pair of heels.  I can't bear to give them up.

  • I selfishly but unhurriedly cannot wait for my baby to stop breastfeeding.

As soon as she does, I'm becoming the Wine Mom. I'm pouring a glass while I scramble to make dinner every night.

  • I splurged on a Kate Spade purse and lied to MH about how much I spent on it.
I wish I could love this post more than once.

I did not tell my husband about the Kate Spade shoes or how much they cost.  They are still sitting in my office at work.

Congrats @SusieBW! How exciting!  I'll second the Graco SnugRide 35.  I like the Medela PISA pump but you should check with your insurance to see if they'll pay for a pump before you buy one.  My insurance paid for 80% of the cost of my pump.

  • JLK (Jennifer, the little girl with the brain tumor) started hospice yesterday. It's too soon. She was supposed to have nine months. It's been three. My confession is that I am SO SO SO ANGRY, and I am beginning to doubt all sorts of things in my life now. FUCK SHITTY STUPID FUCKING CANCER.
