Why is it so hard to find Frozen stuff?! I don't understand Disney's inability to keep things in stock. This is the biggest grossing animated film, have some merchandise! People are buying out stuff and then selling it way higher. Stupid on Disney's part.

Thankfully I grabbed a lot of stuff before Christmas for Christmas presents. Most of that stuff is no longer available. But dd's bday is next month and a few things she wants are hard to find. And how does Party City not have anything Frozen in store?!

Disney you are just forcing me to be crafty and make my own stuff and you are missing out on my money!

Feel free to add your vents!

  • April-did you see the trunk with costumes that's on sale at target this week for half off?  not sure if your DD would be interested, but it seemed like a pretty good deal:

    http://www.target.com/p/disney-frozen-rolling-travel-trunk/-/A-14573623

Liam also wants a Frozen birthday party :)  In May.  For the 5 or 6 family members who join us on our patio while we grill hamburgers and open presents.  But hey, it's his only request, so I'll try to pull together at least some plates and a banner.  let me know where you end up finding stuff, I guess I should start looking!

Thanks! Dd has an Elsa and Anna cheap target dresses from Christmas. But they are falling apart. I wanted to buy her a nice elsa one from JCPenney ( they have a Disney store area in some JCPs. It's really nice dresses but aren't as expensive as regular disney store). They have been out of stock since Christmas. She wants a frozen bathing suit and an 18inch Elsa doll (Americab girl size dolls. She got Anna for Christmas).

For party stuff Emmy...so far I have only been able to find stuff online. Last week Oriental trading company had free shipping and had some stuff in stock. I ordered some cups plates and napkins. Party city sometimes has them in stock online. I'm borrowing some Christmas decorations from somebody...a bunch of snowflakes. And the rest of the stuff I'm making.

  • Here is my vent for the day: I am so sick of the...shall we call them fear-mongers?  On facebook.  I mean, they're everywhere, but especially on there.  If I read one more post or article about the danger of GMO's I'm going to flip the #*(& out.

  • OMG, the frozen stuff is so annoying. By the time they have more available I am not sure DD will even care. I was going to put an elsa doll in her easter basket.  But that isn't going to happen. jerks.

Also, this cold snap can just stay away.  Not that I expect it to be 80 every day in April, but 27?!? no thanks.
  • Oh yes, the weather is a huge vent! I don't really even want 80...just some spring weather. But seriously...snow as a possibility?!

I have no idea what to do clotheswise! I hadn't gotten my spring stuff out and then I was trying to scramble to find something for 80 degrees. But yet u can't out away sweaters yet!

  • My vent is that my car broke down yesterday.  We managed to get it home (DH came out to where I was broken down) and then to the mechanic.  It's something that should be covered under the 5 year power train warranty so we now have to take it to a Ford dealership.   The earliest they can get us in is Friday.  My mom drove me to work today and I don't know what we're going to do the rest of the week.  Having one car sucks.
  • Amber--that does suck! :(  does Ford not provide you a car since it's still under warranty?

  • Emmy, no I don't think they will give us a rental car to use until the appointment.  It sure would make life easier, though!

They can't even look at it until Friday? I call bull. Although you usually cannot get a rental unless you have an extended warranty or your dealership provides them. Basic warranty usually doesn't cover them unfortunately.

  • That was the first appointment available.  It's not where we bought the car (it is used, so where we bought it isn't a Ford dealer), so at this point they have no reason to give us anything more than they have to.

The trunk is $50 at Target - it was $35 around Christmas!  I have found stuff on zulilly.com but to be honest we got some things back in Jan before the craziness hit.  They have some books at Wal Mart.   I have a couple cute dresses that I am tempted to sell online for big bucks!  If you want invites & things a friend did a frozen party for a 5 yr old a month or so ago & did alot of stuff herself from templates online.  Let me know if you want the sites.

  • Here is an interesting story about Frozen:

And the reason people are buying it all up is because people will pay the $1500 on ebay. Its like all of the Target designer collections. If fools would stop paying there would be nothing in it for the ebay seller.

Thanks. I am super excited about the invites I made. Photography is my hobby so I did an Elsa shoot of dd and photoshopped it some. The other side I bought some cute frozen kid graphics on etsy for the other side of the invitations. I usually make her invites but this is definitely my favorite so far!

Otherwise I am using the graphics to make up my own decorations.

I don't understand why Disney doesn't flood the market to prevent people buying and marking it up. Disney doesn't make any extra on it. Tons of people are willing to buy but there is no supply so they either don't buy or spend tons.

The radio the other day was talking about a local place that was supposed to get a shipment of Elsa dresses. One of the guys went a few hours after the shipment and they were already sold out. They said somebody bought 10 dresses. Clearly they are buying to resell. If Disney had the supply out there would be no need for that!

  • I think Disney dropped the ball big time on this one. I've read they didn't anticipate it woul dbe this popular. Um hello you are Disney....... you have a gift shop at the end of every ride in your parks. You didn't expect this to be so popular? DD love Olaf the most and keep saying about the easter bunny brining an olaf toy. Sorry kiddo I think there is a shortage of them that even the easter bunny helpers (she likens then to santa's elves) can't keep up with.

I know. I find it hard to believe they couldn't anticipate some of it. Sure maybe not as big as it is, but it's a princess movie...it's going to be popular. And it's been 6 months. They have had enough time to crank up production. I've found that they suck with keeping up with demand for anything. The year Brave came out dd was Merida for Halloween. They had a crown on their website that I looked at months in advance and it went out if stock. It never came back in stock before Halloween. Yet again, they lost out on my money and I made dd her own crown!

JCPenney's with Disney store seem to have the giant $500 Olafs! Haha! So glad you made those Disney!

Rona...I went to look for a pic of the giant Olaf and ended up finding a normal size Olaf at JCP's website. It's in stock online but wouldn't have it in time for Easter. But They have a link to check in stores. Looks like some have it (century III, Robinson, etc). They have a shirt and PJs too. Here's the link to all of them in case the Easter bunny wants to try to find it!

  • While I was on JCP they have a new Anna shirt that still has some sizes in stock if anybody else is interested. Ship to store is cheaper shipping if you order.

  • We went to SHV last night to see the Easter Bunny and we stopped in to Target. I was shocked that their entire section of Frozen stuff was gone. I'd heard it was hard to find but I had no idea.

G really loves Frozen, or at least the song Let It Go. I'm not much of a fan of either, but it's cute to watch him sing "le goooo le goooo" with hand movements.

PSA: Target has the Blu-Ray with Digital Download for $13 so we picked that up for his Easter basket.

  • I'm so glad my boys haven't gotten caught up in this, outside of loving the movie. I did get them the movie off of Amazon last month, which they've watched maybe 6 times already.

    This Frozen madness is crazy!

    image
    My three sons!

  • I think Disney knows exactly what they're doing. Not saying it's right, but it seems they're keeping the demand up by keeping the supply down.
    image
  • I was thinking the same exact thing Sarah.   If everyone could find a Frozen doll, then no one would be talking about Frozen.  Now there's a frenzy because they can't be found, and maybe even people who don't really want a doll buy one because of the craze.   Disney is crazy like a fox.
  • Confession: I think I am the only human being who has not seen Frozen, well besides my husband.

Nope, I haven't either. My coworker lent it to us, DH tried to put it on and the kiddo completely shut it down. She said it was bad:P She likes the song Let it Go, but beyond that wants no parts of Frozen.
  • I've only seen it 4 times.  It would be more than that if my kids had their way.
