Happy Friday everyone!

What is everyone reading! Is it for the challenge or yearly goal?

@alithebride is in England this week! Have you ever been there? If not, is it on your dream vacation list?

I am reading I Only Have Eyes For You by Bella Andre on my kindle. Lover At Last is my audiobook.
I am also reading Make You Mine by Macy Beckett!!

I have never been to England (unless a layover at Heathrow counts). I want to visit England so bad!!
  • I'm reading Skin by Ted Dekker.

I've been to England. I was in Windsor, London and Portsmouth. London drove me insane. I have no desire to go back. I also was so frustrated that these people were speaking my language but I still couldn't understand them. I did love the convenience of the Tube, though.

    It's slippery as waterweed.
  • I'm still reading The Goldfinch for my IRL book club and am 80 % done. I am still really liking it but I hope to finish it soon.

I have been to England and loved it! I really want to go back and my husbands never been and loves the Enhlish Premier League (Liverpool) so I'm sure we'll go one day to see them!
  • I finished Lover Unbound (BDB #5) last night and I will start Code Name Verity this afternoon. I am also listening to HP6 for a reread.

I have never been to England, I have no desire to go there.

  • Last night I just started reading Cascade by Lisa Tawn Bergren. Too soon to tell how I like it. It's #26 for the year.

I've never been to England and never felt the need to go there.

  • I am reading and LOVING Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor.  I almost feel like it has a Neil Gaiman vibe to it.

I am also reading Blood and Thunder: the Epic Story of Kit Carson and the Conquest of the American West by Hampton Sides, which is quite interesting.

    90 books in 2015?

  • I'm almost done with Dark Places on audio. I have a 2.5 hour drive to my parents tomorrow so I will finish it then. I really like it, typically messed up Gillian.
I'm also reading The Body Book by Cameron Diaz. It's just pretty meh. Lots of information about nutrition (which as a nurse I was required to take in school) and lots of dumbed down science. I wouldn't recommend it.

I've never been to England and it's not really on my list of places I'd want to visit. The only thing I'd be interested in was seeing royalty and I doubt I'd get to do that anyway. It rains enough here and I don't like warm beer.

  • I'm still chugging through Mother and Me: Escape from Warsaw. It's very good, but kind of long and drawn out with a lot of description. It's for the challenge and is #17 for the year.
I might start something else today and take a little break from that.

  • I'm listening to Unbroken and absolutely loving it.  Wow.

I'm reading The People in the Trees.  It's . . . interesting.  In a good way; I'm intrigued, but not really excited about it.  I'm 150 pages in and I feel like it's just now starting to go from set-up to story line.  But it is good, so far.  I know there is some messed up stuff coming, so we'll see where it goes, I guess.

I studied abroad in London for 5 weeks in law school.  I had a couple of weeks of classes and then I sat on the bench with a judge at the Old Bailey court during a trial for conspiracy to commit murder.  It was interesting to learn about their weird legal system and see it in action.  One of the biggest regrets of my life came out of that trip, though - Wimbledon was going on while I was there, and I didn't go when I had the chance because I had just taken a day or two off work to go to Scotland for a long weekend, and I felt guilty taking more time away from the "job" I was supposed to be doing.  Stupid, stupid, stupid.

I'm reading Jackdaws by Ken Follet.  I'm enjoying it, but I haven't had a chance to really dive into it and read more than a few pages at a time.  A new character was just introduced and I think it might start to get interesting. #32

I'm kinda sorta listening to Where'd You Go, Bernadette.  Eh, I'm not sure I'm going to finish.  It seems like a silly book.  Kind of like Beauty Queens, which I didn't really enjoy. #33

ETA: I have been to England, but on a HS trip.  I don't remember much of it except for trying to get Kahlua and milk (OMG how embarassing) and a pub outside Windsor Castle.

@jliongrrrl Oh! I was there for the Trouping the Color (celebration of the queen's birthday) so I got to see the Queen, the Queen Mother and Prince Charles. That was pretty cool. And they told us to prepare for chilly weather and rain when I was there. It was 80s and dry the entire time. :)

I'm reading The Light Between Oceans (still). It will fill the April Showers/water word category.

I started listening to The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy last night. The original book was published in 1979 but the version I'm listening to was produced way later so I'm not sure if I can count it as a book from the 70s for SBC.

I have to start Language of Flowers soon for my IRL book club, I'm going to be cutting it close.

ETA: I've never been to England but my husband has family there so it's on our list of places to go that we will actually go, not the places to go in our fantasy world :)
  • I am reading The Rosie Project.

I have never been to England, but have always been dying to go.  I hope I can cross it off my bucket list soon.

  • I'm reading Dreams of Gods and Monsters. I'm not very far into it - hoping I can squeeze in some reading time this weekend.

I'm listening to Under the Dome. I like it, it's just taking me forever because it's so long.

  • I'm reading The Wise Man's Fear. I'm liking it more than TNOTW but it is taking me forever to get through it.

I'm listening to The Descendants as a reread.

I've never been to England. It's on my list but very far down so I likely won't make it there in my lifetime.

  • I'm starting Daughter of Smoke and Bone.  It's #12 for the year.
  • I'm reading Lover Unleashed, BDB #9, it's okay and is # 48 for the year.

I'm also reading The Sixth Extinction, it is very interesting and I really hope I can finish it this weekend, it is #49 for the year.

I am listening to Catching Fire, it is #50 for the year and I really hope to finish this today at work.  It's great again!

I'm also listening to The Republic of Pirates in my car, it is #51 and it very interesting to learn about the politics of the Pirates.

  • I'm still slogging through 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami.  I like it, but he's a bit Hemingway in the way he describes every little thing and he redescribes them every time we revisit a similar scenario.

England is #1 prime top spot of my dream vacations.  I'm a huge Wars of the Roses and Tudor fan, I've read tons of non-fiction and fiction about the period.  Plus, the freakin' castles!  And Stonehenge!  And Hadrian's Wall! And architecture!  And...I could go on.  I want to go to there.

  • I am reading A Feast for Crows and A Fault in Our Stars.  I am loving them both and hoping to finish A Fault in Our Stars today.

I went to London and Paris on a high school trip.  I loved London and would love to go back and appreciate it a little more as an adult.  I didn't really care for Paris though.

  • I'm listening to Hold Tight by Harlan Coben. It's ok.

On my Nook I'm reading A Painted House by John Grisham. Good so far.

I also just started I Am Legend by Richard Matheson. GREAT!!!

They are all for the challenge.

I have never been to London, but thought it would be a fun place to visit. My sister is debating about going there or Ireland for her honeymoon in December.

I'm reading Bridget Jones' Diary. It's #11 for the year and it's ok. I'm coming off of two amazingly great books though, so that could be why I'm not loving it.
