  • Facebook reminded me this morning that it's my anniversary.  It's being over shadowed by the roof J is putting on the house.  So is Mother's Day.  I'm finding that I'm more upset about it than I thought I'd be.  However, I made my bed, so I shall lie in it.  I think this is one time I can actually use the proverbial "roof over our head' and have it be fact.

    It annoys me when CWs give me the "O_O" when I tell them how far apart Emma and her brother will be (22 months). Yes, I will have 2 under 2. What of it?

    @RevJen What happened?

  • I have 2 goals for work today and I'm leaving early, I'm cranky as hell and I've yelled at my husband twice about small things.  They are things that drive me nuts and I've complained several times but because geez load the dishwasher well and shut your damn fan off when you get out of bed.

    Both of my kids have decided to play football this fall and I'm not excited about it at all.  I'm worried they will get hurt.  :-<  All the dads at the school want them to play because they are really tall and big for their age, but they are also gentle giants.

    My son came home yesterday after a band assembly at school.  They were talking to 4th graders about playing instruments next year.  I asked him what instrument he wanted to play and he said........the flute. :|   I was like are you sure you don't want to try out the trumpet or the saxophone, maybe the drums.  I didn't want to say flutes are for girls because I know they aren't but come on.........  I just have the picture of Kenny G in my mind with his clarinet.

    I went from being the biggest John Green fangirl to now shuddering at any sight or mention of him. I'm SO over him. I have no desire to see TFioS movie. I think the trailer looks ridiculous. It doesn't make me cry, it makes me wince. Those worse sound fine on the page, but sound effing ridiculous coming out of the mouth of that unattractive squishy faced actor.

    They are selling a TFioS TISSUE PACK FFS. I think it's all very ridiculous, and I wish JG would STFU for awhile and just write some books.

    I kind of feel like John Green went and did this to TFIOS:

  • MH thinks that 'working from home' means running errands and going to the mall.  NO, it doesn't.  It means sitting at home with my laptop and Nesting.  I mean Working.

    I'm tired of every time I ask him to do something he promises to and then NEVER DOES IT.  Just like he said he'd install a trellis for my garden and the supplies are sitting there and my vegetable plants that I grew from seed can't go in the ground and are wilting and dying because he thinks my garden is dumb.

    This is MH, too. It has been since we met 15 years ago, so I don't know why I'm still surprised/disappointed/frustrated when he does it. But I am.

    I am so with you on this.  I've been exercising and dieting non stop for four months and haven't even lost a 1/2 a pound.  I really want to blame my thyroid.  I had it removed in November and levels are still out of whack, but I think it's really my love of carbs that's doing me in.  But I don't even eat a lot of carbs!  FML.

    I feel this way every single day.  I feel your pain.  We're trying to get our basement cleaned up so that we can move some things from the current dining room down there and make the dining room into a nursery for this baby.  I did a ton of stuff, but now there's all these old law school books that DH seems to think he still needs.  he tells me at least 3 times a week that he's going to go down and sort through them and get rid of some.  I've been hearing it for 2 months.  And I won't even start on the outside projects I'm waiting on.  So frustrating.

    I've actually had my thyroid removed as well, but I've never really felt like my metabolism's been affected by it... though it has been like 6 months since I've gotten a level check.  Maybe I'll blame, that too, haha!

    Feel free to ignore me (or PM me) - why did you have yours taken out?  I've got major family history, and got ginormous nodules growing on my thyroid when I was in middle school, then actually had to have pieces and parts removed for the next 6 years.  DH and I are making bets on which kid gets stuck with it, too.

    Mine was enlarged with multiple nodules and eventually led to hyperthyroidism.  The whole time it was happening I felt fine.  I still feel fine except for the no weight loss thing and fatigue.  Its hard to say any symptoms I have are thyroid related though because they are usually things that could be easily explained away as something else.  I don't typically have this much trouble with weight loss though.  I'm not out to lose 100 lbs just 10 damn it!

    On a related note, I have fat genes.  I just do.  I HAVE to diet and work out to stay at a reasonable weight.  I haven't had a bite of cheesecake in years.  When I see people who are rail thin and eating a huge ass calzone with onion rings for lunch, I want to kick something.

    Until now I've been pretty blessed in that if I put at least some effort into not eating like a pig and exercising regularly, I can keep myself to a "happy weight" that isn't skinny but I fit nicely into my clothes and don't hide from cameras.

    Lately though, nothin.  I haven't been exercising much though, and I think my body REQUIRES that regularly now.  I know people say it's your diet more than exercise that drives weight loss, but I think my metabolism just crashes without some cardio.  I've just got to find time to get it in, I guess.
