Re: FRIDAY CONFESSIONS

  • I'm annoyed that our library's summer READING program has "watch a DVD" task.  You basically cannot finish the program without watching 4 DVDs.  Because of that, I'm not doing it.  Bah humbug.

  • Our neighbors have blessed us with their abundance of vegetables, which is great, but now I am stressed we won't be able to consume all of the zucchini, yellow squash, beans, cucumbers, and kale before it goes bad.

    Recipes are welcome, btw.

In times of doubt, the answer is usually crap TV.

My confession: I stole someone's fortune cookie out of the break room. Someone grabbed Chinese food for the office and put it out on the table for everyone to grab theirs and I didn't order anything but I wanted the cookie so I took it.

  • I kind of hate living in NYC.

Visiting here is energizing and wonderful. Living here is different. I feel like there is SO much negative energy here. Everyone is always angry. Kids are ridiculously rude and are so foul-mouthed that is still shocks me every time I hear it. Of course, there are things I love about it too, but I don't feel that they outweigh the life draining negativity here.
I write sexy books. I read all the books. I love dresses & macarons.

Instead of working, I've spent most of the afternoon shopping for my Gwynnie Bee closet.

When I have this problem, I turn on some music and make myself clean really fast and clean for, say, four songs. So it's like 10 or 15 minutes. Then that counts as cleaning and I can then not clean for the rest of the time. Bam.
    This. Rage-cleaning is my specialty.

I don't know how to clean really fast.  I get too caught up in details.

The boys still take forever to get out of the house and into the car so when Shaun takes the boys somewhere, I try to get my 10 minutes in before they are out of the driveway then I trick myself into thinking that I had the WHOLE time they were gone to just relax.

Just another really necessary Life Game I play.

  • Ahh OK. The K's thing...no idea. Gay people- PTown, I'm guessing. Bob and Henry? I think its that Mass was the first state to legalize gay marriage (that was MA right?) I just thought the video in general was funny.

There are no 7-11s by my house yet but one is being built.  Hopefully, I'll enjoy Slurpee Day next year.

Yep, I lived in the middle of Baltimore for 1 year. I'm really glad I did it for the experience, but you could never again pay me to live in the middle of a large city.

I think this just confirms that I will always LOVE California above everything else. San Diego is a big city and I loved it there.

  • @sassypants527 - do you like zucchini bread?  I usually get too many zucchinis, so I chop the zucchinis in the food processor and freeze them in ziplocs in 2 cup batches (my favorite recipe calls for 2 cups shredded zucchini).  Then I use them throughout the year to make bread.

Squash are troublesome.  They either don't produce at all or produce enough to feed a family of 85 with leftovers.
