I'm just saying as at least there's something to look at.  I remember the posters, but at least I'd be conversing more!   I get the hate, but they don't bother me that much.

A lurker does not post.  Someone who takes a break from posting is standing about.

SPIKE!  I'm doing a Buffy season 4 rewatch, sighhhhh Spike.

You can probably count me in the "mehs" for Outlander, since I only really loved the first book, but based on that Jamie gif, I think I need to check out this show.

  • I'm only a semi-lurker, I participate in the seasonal challenges but am not very active otherwise. I would love to come out of semi-lurkdom though! I'm a stay at home mom in Texas and spend all of my "me" time reading. I read a little bit of everything but my recent favorites are the Kingkiller Chronicles and the Martian.

    @jjr1214 you're not a lurker either!

  • I'll happily tell you that I don't give a F- about Outlander. No spreadhseet needed.  ;)

I don't think anyone needed a spreadsheet to remember this ;)

  • Me! I intro'd about a year and a half ago, and then dropped off the face of the earth due to our computer being out of commission and me being too lazy to figure out how to post on the mobile site. I've been lurking since then. Had a baby a year ago, moved to Olympia two months ago and am now pregnant again. I just finished the Grisha series, which I loved. I started Voyager today and would love to hide from the world until I finish. Now that the computer's set up again at home, I hope to participate more.

  • Welcome lurkers!
I've been lurking lately. This new job is over worked and under paid. I miss my overpaid and under worked job up north! You know the one that paid me to read, nest and write everyday?!?
My goal in November is to post ever day.
  • I used to participate quite a bit before my kids were born. I hope to participate in the challenges again now that I have a little more time to read again. I recently finished The Mockingbird Next Door. I enjoyed the book and the insight into Harper Lee's life.

  • I also used to participate quite a bit but have been lurking to lately to keep up on the latest "in" reads. My little boy is 14 months old now and it takes me FOREVER to finish a book these days; I feel weird about posting the same books week after week!! I'm reading The Martian right now based on recommendations from this board and also listening to DOA (love Davina Porter!) for a reread.

  • I'm a long time lurker. I occasionally post a random question. I participated in challenges in 2009, but my kids and job have kept me busy since. I lurk a lot for book reviews to decide what to read next. I just finished the Anna and the French Kiss series (love!) and have started The Maze Runner, but I'm having issues getting into it. I thought this series was going to be a quick read, but I keep reading page 44 over and over and my mind is drifting and not absorbing.

ugggggh me!  I want to come out of lurkdown.

So.  I have been lurking for the last (er?) 3 years?  I really should have introduced myself earlier, since I've gotten so many great recs from you all.  : )  I'm Sarah, transplant to NY via Boston via Hawaii.  I'm in a library science program right now but totally at a loss of what kind of librarian to become.  My keyboard Kindle recently broke and I refuse to pay $199 for a Voyage or buy an e-reader without page-turning buttons.  I have unsuccessfully tried to read Bel Canto at least three times.  Recently I sobbed like a teenager over multiple parts of Landline, but felt sort of let down by the plot tidiness of I'll Give You the Sun.
I read Bel Canto was highly disappointed. You're not missing anything by not finishing!

    Welcome!!!

  • I'm not a lurker, but I don't post as much these days. Mostly because my account keeps logging me off before I get to post and I get pissed and storm out. I am reading Drums of Autumn, and as much as it started slow and wondering if I'll ever finish the series I'm now 75% done and can't put it down!

  • I'm a little late to the party, but I'll join in anyway. I've posted very occasionally over the past couple of years, mostly in the weekly What Are You Reading threads. I've been in kind of reading slump all year, so I've posted even less. I just finished Marina by Carlos Ruiz Zafon last night. I really enjoyed it, and it was beautifully written, but it was definitely not what I was expecting.

I'm trying to decide what to read next, and I'm having a hard time deciding between The Raven Boys, Maybe Someday, Damsel Distressed, and Landline. Any thoughts?

  • I'll play!  I used to post mostly in the seasonal challenges in 2010.  I did recently participate in the reading lottery, but mostly I come for all of your great recommendations!  I'm currently reading John Adams as you've inspired me to do the presidential challenge, albeit very slowly.
I'm going to start The Children Act for my book club.
Some of my faves have been The Kingkiller Chronicles & Lola.
I've never read Outlander, but it is on my TBR list so don't know which spreadsheet I fall onto :)

I recently read Maybe Someday and loved it.  Then again I'm a big sucker for Colleen Hoover books.

I'm glad to see you here!!  Haven't seen you on our BMB group in awhile, either.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of those!  I think you'd like Landline a lot.  Damsel Distressed is next on my reading list after I finish The Dream Thieves and Blue Lily, Lily Blue.
