Did anyone snag this deal yesterday? Frontier was selling $1 flights from some cities yesterday; after taxes if you didn't check a bag you could fly for $30 round trip. I didn't see an article about it until this morning, and we don't live near one of the included cities, but I'm interested if anyone else here saw it and took advantage.
Re: Frontier $1 flights
Oh, I hadn't heard about that! My airport (NOLA) is NEVER included in any of those special flight deals, though, so I'm sure I didn't miss much, lol. Interesting promo.
I didn't hear about this because we were already on a frontier flight home! This is a great deal but I have to say that flying Frontier is a huge headache. DH signed up for their card for the 40,000 miles, which were supposed to be good for two round trip flights. We spent a considerable amount of time trying to get the two roundtrip tickets from Sea-Den and couldn't do it with just the 40,000. Finally a deal came along and we were able to. However, they charge for everything, even carry on bags($35) if it is bigger than a purse or back pack. They also wouldn't guarantee us seats together and we were only able to check in at the airport. I called the night before to try and check in and get a seat assignment of a window and middle. I was informed they have an assigned seat fee. It was important because I am still nursing DD. We didn't pay the extra. Overall when traveling as a family on more than a weekend getaway Frontier is not the airline that I would personally pick again.
Wow! Thanks for the review. That is a lot of fees that other airlines don't charge. Which, I guess is fine, as long as I know them all up front and can take that into consideration when comparing their fares to other airlines.
Though, when it comes to "seat assignments", even when I can pick them out ahead of time...I often get assigned something else anyway.
But, unless I'm getting pretty discounted tickets, I better be able to sit next to my H.
Of course not, why would it be? It's the greatest city in the world! It's usually random, smaller cities like Tulsa or Albuquerque.
Edit- I know it's a good deal, but the issues I've had with Spirit and Frontier, you couldn't pay me to fly with them.
Lol, thanks! I always assume it's the hub cities that get the best deals. Or maybe the hub cities to a nearby-ish random city, lol.
For you Futurama fans out there...from the mermaid (with the Southern accent) episode..."Oh no Fry, the ancient city of Atlanta was more than just a Delta hub."
My return flight from San Diego in April, I was placed in the middle seat between 2 very rigid business men. I specifically chose a window seat so I could discretely nurse DD, but they switched me when I checked in at the airport. Their explanation was that I was a single traveler, so it's easier to move me.
