I thought this could be kind of fun.
What are you shopping for this year/or what did you get?
Best deal we should try to check out to see if it's still available.
Re: Black Friday deals
Herbergers has also gone live and so we got our sheets set for the year, and dh has lost weight so we got him 3 new dress pants for $30. (There are insane clothing deals online right now. Buy 1 get 2, plus an extra coupon code for 25% off on top of that! And free shipping).
The only other thing I want is towels from kohls. I'm hoping I can get those tomorrow morning. Then I don't even have to go into the stores for Black Friday
I love that a lot of the deals are available online early! I am shopping for clothes for my niece for Christmas. Also a few boring things for H and I, like socks and undies.
I added a bunch of stuff to my Kohls cart and saved it so it's ready to check out tomorrow
I'm also on the lookout for some new towels, flannel sheets, and possibly some Christmas décor, but I am undecided on those things.
ETA: I've never shopped at Herbergers, but since you mentioned the great deals, I'm going there now!
I'm only buying for my nephews and niece so I will get it all done this week.
I noticed today that aerie has a lot of things for 40% off so I will check that out for my niece.
Kohl's gave me some coupons so I will look for my nephew there and I might get myself new tennis shoes. Kohl's always seems to have a good tennis shoe deal on BF.
Well we don't plan on shopping on Friday, but we went to the furniture store this weekend and bought furniture for the man cave (a sectional and storage ottoman) and got some good discounts.
We also knew BJ's was having a TV sale so we went in to peek and walked out with a TV for the mancave as well.
I'm thinking about buying a new TV for our bed room as our "house" present this year. Our TV now makes a super annoying humming noise and we have to turn the volume up to at least 10 to drown it out. Also might bite the bullet and buy a comforter set I've been eyeing up for a few months. Other than that I'll probably pick up some Christmas gifts for military children for a toy drive my work does.
JCPenny's - Everything will be ordered online to avoid the crowds & shipped to store to avoid shipping charges
Belgian Waffle Maker ($19.99 but has a $10.00 mail in rebate)
Rechargeable Power Wine Bottle opener ($19.99 but has a $10.00 mail in rebate) - Got this for my nephew (he's 24) two Christmas's ago, his ex stole it when she moved out. That was the one thing he was bummed about loosing.
Towels - Great deals on towels
Sears
New vacuum cleaner, we love the one we have and works great but we know it's not going to last forever so getting one to put away. Normally $200.00, will get for $99.00. Again will go online & order & pick up in store later in the day to avoid crowds
Have to go through the ads again and make a list to make sure we don't miss anything.
Earlier today, I took advantage of a JC Penney sale with 20% off my entire purchase. Worked for clearance also. I got a new pair of jeans I have desperately needed plus three comfy...but great for work...sweaters. With my discount, they were less than $12 each.
Some of the items I have my eye on for BF are a new digital camera and appliances. I'm torn on the appliances. I need a suite of appliances for one of the units on my new rental property and I'd like to upgrade the fridge on another one.
I know there are awesome BF appliance deals, but do I really want to spend money on "new" when "used" is still so much cheaper? And the old fridge works just fine, it's just a little banged up looking. Decisions, decisions.
Now that it's over, how did everybody do? I ordered from Kohls last Monday because their sales started that day. I spent $110 and got several shirts, a Christmas dress, some gloves, hat, scarf, and pajamas all for my niece; a cardigan for my sister; a pair of holiday socks for me and a set of flannel sheets for H and I. On Black Friday, I went shopping with MIL and got a holiday dress and bra from Macy's to wear to several holiday parties, and a handful of stocking stuffer items from World Market.
I realllly wanted to buy new towels because there were some killer deals, but I would have used my entire Christmas shopping budget and wouldn't have anything left to spend on gifts for anybody else.
Today, I got on Kohls and used my $30 Kohl's cash that I earned from the first order to purchase socks for H and myself and a set of new bath rugs. I also ordered about a dozen books on Amazon because they have a really good deal today on Kindle books.
Total spent on Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals:$366.69
Best deal: The flannel sheets from Kohls were on sale for $24.99 for a queen size set, and then the additional % off for Black Friday!
.
I spent quite a bit, but almost all on things we needed. My big stop was spending $250 at the Gap for both H and I. Neither of us has really bought business casual-level clothes in a couple of years (casual workplaces) and I truly consider it all practical and needed. We've been getting sclubby. Everything was 60% off before 10 am. I also got a pair of upscale winter boots at $20, marked down from $60, and a pair of outdoorsy winter boots at $104, marked down from $138. Those boots were the splurge; I can't really justify them except to say they will be heavily used, I thought about getting them over a month before the purchase, and I love them:-)
Most of our family has decided on very minimal Christmases, and I still haven't decided what to get my inlaws, so I didn't end up getting any gifts. I'll probably check local craft fairs the next couple of weekends to finish that up.
I got a few deals, but nothing too special. I wish I would have thought to hit up Target and Old Navy.
VS I bought new bras they were buy one get one 50% off and you could use it on the 2 for $50 bras so I got 4 bras for $75. Not too shabby. Plus free shipping and I'll get 5% back from Discover.
Kohls I got 3 pairs of boots, two jackets and a sweater for $110 plus $30 Kohls cash. One pair of boots is my sister's Christmas gift. Yesterday I used my $30 Kohls cash towards a new comforter set, so I ended up getting that for $60!
Cyber Monday was a huge win. Free shipping on everything! I shopped three places:
-Running shoes for $30 from the sporting goods store
-Regular personal care stuff from Target at a savings of over 30%. This is for stuff that doesn't really go on sale. It was a big savings so I got a 9 month supply of one item.
-A cat necktie at 50% off ($2.50) so my niece and nephews can make their cat look like business cat. I am going to add it to the present pile with a tag that says To: Morris Cat From: Suzie Dog
On Cyber Monday, I did buy a new pair of running shoes and two new bras at Nordstrom both for over 65% off, which is pretty good for Nordstrom! (Plus 6% back through ebates.com) I also tried to pick up some new Clarisonic brush heads but their website crashed due to high traffic - so I may check back closer to Christmas.
I don't think I've ever quoted myself before, lol. But here is my update from above:
