Most expensive gift you have bought your SO?
Re: Most expensive gift you have bought your SO?
Yeah they're pretty great. But until then, you know you can freeze your milk ahead of time (just empty/drink a little off the top before freezing) and then let it defrost in your regular cooler... it usually defrosts just enough to drink each day, and it helps to keep the other stuff cold. Also eggs don't even need to be kept cold at all (especially if you're using them all quickly), that's just something we do here in the US.
Awesome tip on the milk! I feel like a doofus for not thinking of that. I like to keep store bought eggs refrigerated, but when we can get them farm fresh and unwashed from a friend I don't refrigerate. I think it's so cool that they come out of the chicken basically sterile inside. Just learned that last year.
I'd never heard of a Yeti cooler until about a year ago. I got some postcard from one of the casinos I play advertising on such and such date that they were going to be doing drawings for slot play ($50-$250) leading up to the "grand prize" of 10 people getting a Yeti cooler.
I'm like, "A cooler? Is a grand prize? There must be something I am missing." So I googled it and was like, "Whaaaaatttttt." I had no idea. It was an extra big one that I think was like $500-$600.
The other reaction like that I had was for a different drawing where the grand prize was one of those Green Egg smoker/BBQ things. That was another, "WHAT!!! That thing is $1100 frickin' dollars!!! For a grill!!!"
Apparently I'm just not very familiar with fancy high-end outdoor stuff.
Love it! The first year we dated my H had flowers delivered to my work at least every 2-3 months. I don't know how much it was, but our first Christmas (we'd been together almost a year) he gave me a sapphire bracelet and earring set.
It's all been downhill from there, lol. But, no, I'm teasing. It's fine.
He also gave me a laptop computer about 5 years ago (before we were married) after mine had been stolen.
I haven't really ever given him a big gift. I would if there was something he really wanted, but that hasn't happened.
Although, about one week ago, we were in Home Depot and he was lusting after some table saw thing. He said he wanted one someday. And I joked, "Do you want a present?" He said he did, so I bought it. Plus it has a laser on it. So now I feel like I get wife brownie points for buying him something with a "laser".
