  • Friday: work from home, get DD#1 off the bus, homemade pizza night
Saturday: bathroom clean up- paint, grout, caulk. Girls are sleeping over at DH's parents and hopefully we'll be able to go out to dinner if we're not too tired.
Sunday: Grocery shop, meal prep, laundry, football, relax, hopefully sew a few quilt blocks.
Monday: back to work, but DH and the girls are home. Hoping they'll come visit me during my lunch break.  :)

  • @brij2006 Are you a vodka drinker normally? You could always get some plain soda at the bar and if anyone asks it's a vodka soda. Good luck! Or get a normal glass of wine and pretend to sip it and hope nobody is paying close attention.

    @csuave Have an amazing time!!!

Friday - We might go to the fair tonight as long as the weather is nice. We're near Atlanta and we're definitely seeing some cloud cover from Hurricane Matthew but I don't think we're expecting any rain or damaging winds from it.

Saturday - Apple picking (again), but this time we're taking my sister and niece along with us. We'll probably go to Sears and hhgregg to check out some chest freezers. I've fallen in love with a Kenmore Elite model but it's probably going to be too expensive...I just love the organization of it!

Sunday - Clean the house and grocery shopping.

  • @labro That's the sucky part, I'm a dark beer and wine drinker most of the time.  Rarely I'll have a gin and tonic, so I might do a 7-up with a lime wedge and call it a gin & tonic.
The part that's going to get hard is my dad is notorious for getting us a round of drinks.  He knows what I like and just brings it to me and keeps them flowing.  I already told H that he can just switch me beer glasses when his gets low so it looks like I've drank most of it.

  • @brij2006 dumping out a beer bottle and refilling with water also works!

Friday night: grocery shopping, batch cooking, and wrapping presents for my friend's mini "shower" tomorrow. Her little lady came 6 weeks early so we canceled the big shower (since she was in the hospital) so now the high school girlfriends are going tomorrow to bring her presents and meet our new niece that wasn't technically supposed to be here until next week!

Saturday: new niece meet and greet! She lives near some great outlets too so another friend and I are going shopping after and then getting dinner.

Sunday: FOOTBALL! We finally have our Brady back and I'll be glued to the TV. Will do some chores on either side of the game.

Friday - Working today. I will probably have a very exciting evening and try to clean the house after H leaves for work.

Saturday - No plans as of right now. I might go to home depot and start dreaming about our bathroom remodel/build... I'm hoping once my student loans are paid off we can start that project.

    Sunday - Football. :)

It's going to be a really quiet weekend which is normal when H is working.

  • Friday: our city's homecoming football game

Saturday: putter around outside in the morning, go to the orchard near our house. We're going to my supervisor's birthday party in the afternoon/evening.

Sunday: church, then a free day which will be glorious. I have a crockpot meal planned using the apples & cider from the orchard, and am looking forward to baking up some apple cake!
  • @smetter04 What are you making in the crockpot with apples? I've been trying to think of savory things to cook. At the end of this weekend I'll have a ton of apples and I'd like some ideas on what to do with the fresh ones. The last batch I saved some for snacks/lunch and then peeled and chopped and froze the rest.
  • This week was SOOO long.  I"m looking forward to the weekend.  I spent the last 3 days at DH's studio helping him clean it up.  It took me 6 hours to get all the sheetrock mud off all the windows.  yesterday I was scraping off primer paint from his stage floor.  Still lots to be done but hopefully it will be all cleaned up and ready to go by the end of next week.  I'll probably come over another day next week.  His first shoot in it is today.

Tonight - 7th year anniversary dinner and DD will stay overnight with my in laws.

Tomorrow - I play 2 weddings back to back

    Sunday - relax!
  • @labro the recipe is crockpot apple sauerkraut country style ribs. The apples don't actually go into the crockpot; they're cooked with the sauce at the end, in a separate saucepan. It's a delicious fall recipe, let me know if you're interested and I can PM you.

@vlagrl35 congrats on your DH's first shoot in his studio! You guys must feel so triumphant that it's finally here.

  • My firm had attorney cocktail hour last night.  I opted have to a mixed "drink" so it looked like I was drinking something, but nonalcoholic.   We just started TTC so figured better safe than sorry, at least until I know one way or the other.

I hadn't been there 5 minutes when one of the brand new female partners looked at me and goes, "OMG are you pregnant?!?"  And then she goes, "Whoops - sorry, I'm probably not supposed to ask you that since I'm a partner.  You don't have to answer that.... but seriously, are you?"  Facepalm.

I just told her probably not, but I didn't know for sure.  She promised not to say anything else about it.  It's cool, because we are friends, but yes, technically she is my employer/boss.

At least it was just the two of us.  And none of the men noticed (of course not).

  • @hoffse I've been getting sick at the office and have had HCG draws every 48 hours.  My co-worker came up yesterday and said she knows I'm pregnant because she knows me leaving at the same exact time every 2 days and driving an hour away means I'm getting that blood draw, on top of me getting sick at the office.  She just knows, but she won't tell anyone.  Then she walked away.
I wish she wouldn't have said anything and just kept it to herself.

Also, totally your choice, but I was in the "drink till it's pink" camp.  Actually had half a bottle of wine the night before I tested with this pregnancy. You don't share a blood supply for a while.

you've been getting morning sickness?  Its sucks but it's a good sign right?  I got sick at least once a day for 8 months with DD.  I got a break that 9th month.
  • Random question and I don't really think it deserves its own thread. Our main cc company has been bugging H about increasing the credit limit on our card. Is there any reason NOT to? I figure it's probably always a good thing to have more available credit to your name right? The card is through a credit union if it makes any difference at all. I think the limit on it is around $15k currently and I have no idea what they'd be offering but I assume it would involve a hard pull on our credit.

You have no idea!  I"m so exhausted today.  His painter has been dragging his feet on the inside and I spent most of Tuesday taping off the trim and DH painting the trim.  We were at a point where it just needs to get done so DH can go back to making money for us!  I think his painter was offended and I was really annoyed that he hadn't gotten it all done in 3 months.  Well he showed up late Wend night and Thurs afternoon.  Otherwise I think if DH didn't have to paint on Tues and Wens then all of the cleaning would be done. Maybe now DH's "swimmers" can get less stressed and knock me up.
  • @hoffse I'm also a drink 'til it's pink camp but my first few months trying I stopped during my two week window so I get it. I'm off booze again right now because my doc said no drinking while on fertility drugs. Ugh - doesn't he know how much IVF shots make you need a glass of wine?!

I wish they served their beer in bottles at this venue, but I know it's in glasses.

Our other thoughts were to take the Mustang.  We're very vocal about how it's a zero tolerance car.  It's loud, red, and a Mustang.  Screams pull me over.  So whoever is driving it, doesn't have more than 1 drink.  That would give me an excuse and my parents know we're pretty strict about that rule.

Actually, the glass would make it even easier to pour from one to the other.

    Love the car idea! :)

  • @brij and @lillibette, I was too - but I also decided to cut back for other reasons.  I realized my alcohol consumption had gone up a good bit in the last year as work has gotten more stressful, so I am cutting back while it's still very easy for me to do.  Alcoholism is a huge issue in the legal profession.

Side bonus: I've already lost a little weight!  That alone tells me it was past time to cut back.

That decision just kind of dovetailed with TTC, and I figured now was as good a time as any.  My cycle has been way out of whack - I went off of BC 7 weeks ago, and no AF, but I am having all of the other side effects (joy).  It's like being a teenager again.  Anyway, I have no idea what's going on, so I just decided to go cold turkey Oct. 1 and focus on my diet and meditating a little bit to relieve stress.

She just super caught me off guard when she asked me that, so I answered her literal question honestly.  She would have been able to tell if I was lying anyway.

  • @hoffse It can take a while for your body to get back in check after stopping BC.  I would say at this point to just take a test once a week until AF comes.
Oh and you're not alone with those side affects.  I had bacne for a solid 6 months after stopping BC.  I hadn't had that since early high school.  Thankfully it went away over time.

@hoffse I'm kind of in a similar boat. We're postponing TTC to next year, however my alcohol consumption has also increased quite a bit in the last year. I'm not cutting alcohol altogether, but I am trying to decrease it in an effort to get healthy and lose some weight. I'm also hoping that if family/friends/coworkers see me drinking less, and no pregnancy announcement, it'll become the new 'normal' and it won't be as obvious when I am pregnant. But, my family is on watch so I doubt that will work lol.
