Re: TTC/3T Check-In

  • Things are going okay.  I had bright red spotting all last week, but my beta's came back just fine.  They offered to do an ultrasound on the 12th (6 weeks) instead of the 20th (7w1d), but we decided that if the inevitable is happening then we'll find out either way.  So we decided to stick with the 20th so if things are doing fine then we'll get to see more and not have to worry if the heart had just started beating and it's slow.
So we're just taking it one day at a time.

where are you at in your TTC journey? Cycle 5 - CD 8

Any testing coming up?  Temping this cycle and start OPKs on CD 11

Anything good or bad happening? (TTC wise or just in life..)  Nothing bad.  I'm feeling much happier now that DH's studio is almost complete.  By the end of this week the inside should be completely finished.  I think he's feeling better too.  I'm feeling more relaxed about TTC this cycle and I hope it stays that way.

FFC/AW of the Week (no rules):  Uh - I"m so over all the political posts on FB today.
  • @brij2006 I am thinking of you and wishing you the best!

Nothing huge here. I spoke with an adoption agency this morning just to learn some more, but I'm also seeing my doctor on Friday to talk about next steps if we choose to proceed with more IVF, donor eggs or donor embryos.

I honestly don't know which direction we will go in.

  • Where are you at in your TTC journey? Cycle 8, CD12, 3 DPO

Any testing coming up? Ummm...maybe? I started OPKs Sunday, but FF gave me dashed cross hairs this morning. I'm kind of weirded out and confused. Continued temping, but if my temp stays up tomorrow I'll stop the OPKs.

Anything good or bad happening? (TTC wise or just in life..) See above...if the cross hairs stay, it'll be a very early O. Like on CD9. I guess we'll see over the next few days.

Sounds like all my friends in FL survived the hurricane. The only thing I'm waiting to hear about now is the vacation house in VA Beach where I'm supposed to go in two weeks. FX it wasn't damaged too bad so I can still go.

  • Today is CD2 for me and I had my baseline ultrasound this morning. I am starting stimulation (gonal-f and menopur) this evening and go back for another US this Friday. It feels so good to actually be in the IVF cycle now and feel like we're making progress! Although my husband and I received the PIO and the huge needles to go with it and we're both already super anxious about those. One step at a time though.

Because I was on the pill to prep for this cycle my period cramps have been practically non-existent this weekend. Without the pill they usually incapacitate me. A small silver lining and a needed break before the upcoming egg retrieval.
  • Ok...I think I need a sanity check. Would someone be willing to check out my chart and tell me I'd you think I truly O'd? (I don't think I did, but FF kept the crosshairs this morning.)

  • @LillibetteV Good luck!

@lfk2013 I'm thinking FF is crazy.  It will probably move them when you actually ovulate or take them away as your temps fluctuate more.  I ran into this issue with FF as well when I went from rocky mountain long cycles down to more predictable cycles with the Met.  It would try to find anything to detect O because it didn't have anything to base it on.  The more often my cycles stayed consistent, the better it got at not doing that randomly anymore.

  • @lfk2013 - I'm not good at reading charts yet but noticed we are just a few days apart in cycle.  I'm on CD 10.  That would be a super early O for you - I would assume FF is crazy.
  • @lfk2013 - I agree with you and brij... I didn't temp super long, but isn't your temp supposed to stay consistently up after you O?

AFM - Life is pretty crazy lately in my world. Our top donor decided she did not want to continue after her first cycle (with another couple) because it was too crazy for her to manage appointments with her school and work schedule... Been there, GF. There isn't really anyone else that we're as excited to use, so that's on hold for the time being.

We had our vacation in PNW to celebrate our little guy, and TBH, it wasn't what I was really hoping for. The Falls were beautiful (although no big reveal since it was literally on the side of the freeway, lol), but H's family was with us, and he spent most of the time hanging out with them. I chose to separate myself a bit to reflect since there wasn't really any discussion about why everyone was there in the first place. I didn't want to make everything all about Lincoln, but I was truly disappointed that it wasn't even mentioned by his family.

Since we've been back, we are now in the process of purchasing a new home. I HATE buying houses! We have found a house, but now all the craziness to get to closing, which is currently planned for 11/18.

I think I'm ready for another vacation already!  :p

  • has anyone on here used Menopur? We've done 2 nights of it and that stuff HURTS when it goes in. The lupron and gonal-f are fine (and they are all subcutaneous so it's not a needle issue). Any tips for tonight??

I remember it stinging during the injection.  I don't think there is anything to do about it though... I'm sorry!

Boooooooo. Well hopefully it's only another week or so! This is why I make my husband give them - knowing it hurts I can barely suck it up to let him inject me, I'd never do it myself!
  • Not sure of the board etiquette here, but I am new to this board (but not new to the Nest).

So I figured I would introduce myself. I am 28 and DH turns 30 in two weeks. Today, I am getting my Mirena IUD removed. Not looking forward to having monthly periods again (it's been like 5 years since I had one), but looking forward to tracking my cycle and understanding it better.

So, we will start TTC in about a month or two. I am not quite aligned to this board, but figured I would join.

    Any testing coming up? N/A

Anything good or bad happening? (TTC wise or just in life..) I am going through a massive leadership change in the organization I run and dealing with some struggles with an employee, but working through it. Hoping to resolve a lot of it this month. Personal life is pretty good. We originally planned to TTC in January 2017 but DH and I have discussed moving it up to sooner since we both feel ready emotionally, financially, job-wise and in general.

FFC/AW of the Week (no rules): nothing right now

  • welcome @bmo88 - we are on the 5th month of TTC and this is my first month temping and charting.  Right now my mornings consist of peeing on an OPK and temping all the while sitting on the toilet peeing ;) Good luck with getting your IUD removed.
  • @vlagrl35: Thank you! Removal is complete....mild cramping now, but hoping it doesn't get too bad.

  • @FutureMrsWright2012 next time, let's get together and talk about E and L and drink wine.

Oh! This reminds me! I just booked tickets to your area for Feb 2-5. At the moment, my husband isn't coming... just me and the kiddo. But my parents are excellent babysitters, so I could totally meet up for a bit. :)

  • @bmo88 welcome! I just joined myself and this group is really supportive. TTC sucks so any help is nice!
  • I'm glad you guys joined @bmo88 and @LillibetteV - the more the merrier.  I'm already thinking do we have BD tonight or tomorrow night - when of those days will DH be less tired.  I'm likely to O tomorrow.  We BD last night.  He has a couple busy days coming up and then he goes to a soccer game Wens night.  I'm kinda hoping he skips and stays home with me.

that's the only upside of IVF - the pressure is off of our sex life. and DH has to stay home with me at night to shoot me up lol.
  • Thanks for the welcoming posts everyone! It's great to also see some friendly faces from the MM board!

  • I'm on CD 16 and still haven't O'd according to OPK testing since CD 11.  My chart isn't showing those CHs.  I thought charting would make me feel better but now I'm starting to get stressed.  Last month I got positive OPK CD 15 and the month before it was CD 14.  Would someone mind looking at my chart?  How do I upload it here?

  • @vlagrl35 - You should be able to copy/paste a link.

I had a positive OPK Monday night, a temp drop yesterday, and a temp rise this morning. FX my temps stay up!

  • I'll try that @lfk2013 - I'm on CD 18 with no positive OPK still.  I'm very frustrated.  Maybe I missed my LH surge but I always test FMU and it's never been a problem before.  My temp was a bit higher than yesterday - not much.  The last 2 nights DH has been too tired to BD and I ended up having a mini meltdown last night because between that and no positive OPK yet I don't have much hope for this cycle.  My fertile window according to FF ended yesterday.
  • @vlagrl35 - It is possible to miss the surge with FMU. I surged this time in the evening and both the morning before and the morning after were negative. I start testing twice a day once the 2nd lines starts to get darker.
