did it take you to get your wedding pictures back? It's been almost 2 months since our wedding, and our photographer has only posted some pictures on her blog. I received an email a couple of weeks ago saying it would be 1-2 weeks before they would be up on a website for ordering. I'm just so sad that I haven't gotten them all back yet, am I being too impatient?!
Re: How long....
I think two months is too long...unless that was discussed with you ahead of time. I would be concerned and call them.
It took us less than 4 weeks, and they told us 6-8 weeks prior so we were VERY excited they were in early!!
The Fluffy Cat says... "Boxes are the best toys ever invented!"
We got married on a Saturday, left for our honeymoon on a Tuesday, and returned the following Tuesday. I got a message the next day or two after that they were ready-- so that was about 11-12 days? This was in 2005, and they were digital and film pics. Your wait seems a little long for me..
We were married in late June, and all of our pictures were available online before we returned from our honeymoon, so within a week of our wedding day.
Ours were within a month for 5x7 prints of every single photo, film negatives, DVD, rights release - over 600 shots with both b&w and color photos.
I think it depends on who you use and what time of year you get married in. We were married in Sept. June is really busy wedding time so photogs may get backed up a little more - especially if you use a place that's a one-photographer kinda show.
I'm not sure I'd be bothering them until you passed Contract deadlines. The more annoyed I get with someone nagging me, the longer they'll wait.
Exactly! I think it needs to be taken into perspective what exactly you are getting. I was incerdibly anxious to get mine and it was 8+ weeks. However, I needed to remind myself that it was just starting to get into wedding season (our wedding was May 9) and that our photographer was providing 600+ EDITED!! pictures, all printed, etc etc. Editing that many photos takes sometime! I would rather she take her time and catch all the details than button push her way through them haphazardly.
Also, another thing to consider, have you paid in full? Some contracts read that full payment is due upon delivery of prints, which is a sound business practice, but maybe offering to pay would speed the ball up a bit? Either way, I know the wait is painful, but be optimistic that your photog is taking the time to really review your prints and edit them justly instead of just pumping anything out.
