The one girl has have an over 2 year engagement and she's already picked her WP so I think she could probably benefit from the boards in the future.

Too funny, my friend got engaged in December of 2007 and asked me to be a BM that NYE...obviously we're still friends, but yeah the boards would help!

He works for a tv network company, they house a few different networks like A&E, History Channel. He's a network coordinator for 2 sports networks, one of which is ESPN's online streaming, so he has to cover stuff like cricket in Bangladesh. Blech. He applied for a new position that would be 4 10-hour ovenrights in a row and then 3 days off, which might be better?Working that job for a year would mean he'd have a broader skillset so we could hopefully find jobs a little easier once we decide to move back up towards Boston. So we'll see!

    What does your H teach?

That sounds awesome AND exciting!  I'll keep my fingers crossed about the new position.  I'm sure 3 days off would be great for both of you!

My H is in school to teach PE.  He got his first bachelor's in Sociology in hopes of becoming a cop, which didn't work out.  He took this overnight factory job to get insurance and pay bills while he sorted out the cop thing...but then decided to go back to school to do what he REALLY enjoys (teaching/coaching).  Now that I have him on my insurance he could probably quit, but finding a part time job that makes enough money for him to feel comfortable (he stresses about money; me, not so much) is so hard in this economy.

  • Yeah, I hear that. I hate my job, I'm on H's insurance, so I'd love to do something part time so I have time to delve into my photography work, but it would be a really tough adjustment financially. I'm hoping to at least find a new job closer to home for the time being. I have an hour commute right now and it really wipes me out after a long day.
  • OK, girls, I'm heading out now.  Have a good night!

I often feel like my job is slowly stealing my soul...but that's life in non-profit, I guess! Once H is stable I'll start seriously looking for myself, but I'll unfortunately have to wait for a bit.  Good luck in your search!

I'm out of here as well - I have to wake H up for work.  Night, all!
