No. I don't believe it is a "completely sexual thing." It would be one thing if she got something out of it, but she doesn't. Standing in a corner naked, being spanked more than 30x, and bruising are not sexual, pleasurable things. She told him to stop when it got too bad, he didn't. That is not pleasurable. It may be sexual for HIM, but for her it's just abuse.

Really? I think this is a little naive. Google, or even just Wikipedia, Paraphilias. People get off on fucked up things. Lots of people get off on pain. That's not even that uncommon. Not that it isn't totally WTF worthy, but to be so disbelieving that there are masochists in the world??

I think there's an element of BDSM in this all, but it is disturbing because in normal BDSM activities there is always a safe word and it can all end. Despite the "punishment" aspects, the sub is in control enough to say when and stop everything.
That doesn't appear to be the case here, which is what disturbs me about it. I do think there's a sexual component, though. And the people are too religious to do BDSM correctly because they think it is "bad."
I get what you're saying. But if she is begging him to stop because it was too painful and he kept going, then what? Isn't that abuse? Hasn't it passed the point of pleasurable pain? If she even admits that she thought it was too severe?
