::comes out of lurkdom temporarily::
I have not watched the video yet (at work) but... I saw the headline and, well, Johnstown is DHs hometown and... well... knock me over with a feather. Its not really known for being a tolerant area. There are alot of hate groups in the area... and it can be pretty racist, bigoted. So. Having not seen the video... Im not surprsed. I showed it to DH and he said to share that its his hometown and he probably even knew people there.
Oh, c'mon, the Oppression Olympics are FUN!
The t-shirt incident is an interesting comparison. The t-shirt incident that I know of are liberals who wore Palin is a b*tch shirts in Philadelphia. The video in this post happened in a more rural town in PA.
So what does that tell us? There are ignorant crazies everywhere!
Now I know the area! I used to compete in a state competition in hs near Johnstown. Literally when we were driving there we saw KKK stuff. It was so scary. It was like going to a different state.
Don't forget the Philly protester who was waiting for Palin outside a hair salon and shouted, "Let's stone her, old school!"
Oooo! I lived in da burgh for 8 years (college and grad school at Duquesne)
Who do you expect to denounce them? The conservatives on this board? Do you denounce every crazy liberal? Should all the atheists on this board denounce every crazy atheist or Catholics denounce every crazy Catholic? Plenty of people having been calling it wrong, what do you honestly expect?
Whoa there, pville. Holy putting words in my mouth. Dial it down a notch.
I expect John McCain and Sarah Palin to denounce them. Just like I expected John McCain to denounce the person who asked him "how are you going to beat the ***?" re: Hillary. One weak rebuttal from him clearly hasn't stopped the crazies. Palin is actively inciting the "Obama as the Other" narrative, which is directly connected to these recent outbursts. They know exactly what they are doing -- which is why they aren't actively denouncing it.
I....I....I....
Speechless. Really.
Although not necessarily shocked. I actually grew up in southern Ohio, and I bet if you go to some McCain/Palin rallies there, you'll here the same thing. I mean, seriously, they have entire barnsides painted with the confederate flag, viewable from the major interstate between Cincinnati and Columbus.
