BC question

<--------------------------Completely dumb

Ok, so I COMPLETELY screwed up my birth control this month.  I was supposed to go pick up a new pack and start it on Sunday.  I completely forgot.  Monday was the holiday so it completely threw me off schedule and I still forgot.  YESTERDAY was the last day I could pick it up without completely messing up my cycle and what happens??  I remember at 9PM last night.  SOOOOOO, what do I do now?  I've never screwed it up this bad before, so I have no idea what to do.  I don't want to google birth control stuff at work, but I'm slightly freaking out.  Since I'm a Sunday starter, do I have to wait a whole month until my period so I can start a new pack?

We did the PNP this morning and will be picking up some condoms later just in case.  We haven't bought any in like 2 years.  It's going to be weird.

Re: BC question

  • I have no idea but I would be freaking out to. Call your doctor and ask them if you need to wait, or can you start a new pack this Sunday?

  • Ok, so I just called my doctor's office.  The girl told me I could either wait a month until my next cycle (um, no) or I could skip this past Sunday's pill, take Monday's and Tuesday's today, and then Wednesday and Thursday's pill tomorrow.  I will be going with option number 2.  I don't think I should go a whole month without birth control!!!  We don't need any mini-Stus running around just yet!!  She said we should probably use back-up methods for this month though (which sucks, but oh well).

  • yeah I wouldn't worry... Just take a few of what you have missed.... just use condoms for the next few weeks! (lame, I know)
  • Yeah I would go with option #2 also. Sucks that you have to use a backup, but I think its necessary if you miss more than 2 pills. Thankfully the worst I've done is taking mine several hours late.

  • I'm going to be so embarrassed trying to pick out condoms!!  I bet they have all kinds of new technological ones!!!  I mean I literally have not bought condoms in over 2 years.  I'm going to be like a teenager spending an hour in the condom aisle at CVS trying to pick out some!!!

  • The girl on the phone at my doctor's office was CRACKING UP!!!  I tend to be a little dramatic about things (who, me??) and I had her rolling!!!  I had to shut my office door so no one else could hear our conversation.

Seriously. I couldn't pick out condoms if I wanted to! They're so advanced lol

  • And I can't handle any of the ones that have spermicide or the warming/tingling stuff.... I literally turn into a fire crotch (not Lindsey Lohan, haha)

  • I know, right???  They smell all rubbery and they're gross and they don't feel good.  But like I said, I guess it's better than mini-stu right now!!!

  • And afterwards, you have a nice little bag of man-juice!!

(Gross... I probably shouldn't submit that, but whatever!!)

  • I took my tongue ring out like 3 years ago and it still hasn't closed up.  It's supposed to be the quickest place to heal or something and I still have a hole.  (that's what she said).

  • lololol weeeird! I have a bunch of ear piercings that are closed up, I had a cartilage on one side and industrial on the other and they are both gone. Brandon had his labret and it hadn't closed up even though he'd had it out for years.

  • I had one cartilage piercing close up, but that one was a pain in the (r)ear... hardy har har.  I got it done my junior year in high school and it NEVER stopped hurting.  I put up with it until like my 2nd year in college before taking it out.  I have one right below that one that I still keep an earring in and it didn't even hurt right after I got it done.  Weird.

  • same with mine! It just never healed. And I got a huge bump on the back of it so I couldn't even put a normal earring in it it was so big!! So I took that out and the bump went away, same thing on my other ear. my ears just don't like piercings up there!

  • WARNING:  GROSSNESS AHEAD

Mine got a bump on the back too.  I took the earring out and I was looking at it in the mirror and it kind of "popped".  All of this infected liquid came oozing out and I showed it to my uncle who happens to be an ear, nose, and throat doctor and he was like "hand me that earring".  I gave it to him and he threw it in the trash.  He basically told me that my ear was super-infected and that if I left an earring in it that the cartilage could collapse and I could have an elephant ear.  Um, thanks Unc!!!  You have officially freaked me out now.

  • hahahha elephant ear. Sounds terrifying!! Good thing I took mine out!!

  • Ya'll crack me the hell up!

  • That's what he called it!!!  He said the cartilage could collapse and my ear would have no sturdiness to it, so it would kinda flap over like an elephant!!  Needless to say, I did not put that earring back in.

  • hahahaha oh god that sounds terrifying.

  • I had my cartilage pierced when I was in high school.  I had the same ring it in for ten years...took it out before the wedding and decided I was just done with it.  It was the kind of thing that I had done and then never really gave another thought to, so somehow ten years later it was still kicking around.  This post made me curious about whether it has started to grow over yet, so I tried to put an earring in there.  I may as well have taken the original earring out yesterday, it hasn't closed even a little bit.  I am going to assume that it probably never will, since I had the piercing in for so long.

I also have my BB pierced.  I have given a LOT of thought recently as to whether I should take it out.  I don't want to have one of those really weird and gross enormous stretched out holes when I get pregnant.  But I also think it looks weird when I take it out (I've had this pierced for about 10 years as well, and I just think my BB looks strange without a barbell in there).

I have no idea what to do, so...recommendations?  Leave it in or take it out?  Am I screwed and going to have an enormous stretched out hole there either way?

  • I had my cartilage pierced about 2 years ago. I had taken it out a few weeks before the wedding because it was bothering me and then with all the wedding fuss I completely forgot to put it back in. A few weeks after coming back from our honeymoon I tried to put it back in, but it had completely grown up. I had a small bump on the back of my ear at first, but now its gone and its like there never was a hole there.

I'm the same way.  I got mine done (without my parents' permission *GASP*) when I was 16.  My BB looks freakin weird as hell when I take out the barbell.  Adam keeps telling me that I should take it out because I'm a grown-up now.... screw you old man!!  I like my barbell!!!  haha.  Nah, I've been thinking about the whole taking it out thing because of pregnancy.... I think I'm going to take mine out once I find out that I'm KTFU and then go from there.

  • Haha yeah that was one of the reasons I was thinking of taking mine out, to be more grown up.. but it looks SO strange without it! I've had mine since I was sixteen too. Plus I decided I am not a grown up, so I don't need to look like a grown up hahaha.
