Are your rings soldered together?
Re: Are your rings soldered together?
Tired after a long morning of hiking and swimming.
mine are. it was more comfortable for me that way. i dont like them spinning independently either.
i dont think its tacky one way or another - just preference!
Mine are. I had to have my wedding bands custom made to fit around my e-ring, and it wouldn't have worked if the weren't soldered. I also have times that I don't want to wear my e-ring, so I bought a cheap band that I wear at those times.
This is my set:
2.3.11: Started TTC
2.8.12:Initial b/w - Normal
3.7.12:HSG - Normal
3.8.12:S/A - Normal
Cycle #12/Month #15 - 50mg.Clomid CD5-CD9 - BFN
4.24.12: RE appointment - DX Unexplained IF
7.12 - 9.12: TTA
10.12 - 1.13: TTC Naturally
February 2013 - IUI #1 w/100 mg Clomid - 5 mil.post-wash: BFFN
March 2013 - IUI #2 w/100 mg Clomid & Trigger - ?? MY BLOG
Mine are not. I don't have a strong opinion on it - my wedding band is plain so it doesn't matter if the spin independently. If mine was styled like yours, Kiz, it probably would drive me crazy to not have them soldered.
I do like having the option to wear just my plain band if I am doing something active and want to keep it simple.

When we got married we set my diamond into a new setting, so I just have one ring now. I tried to find a matching band for our first anniversary, but I couldn't find one that fit right. So, I guess I'm pretty neutral on soldering them together. I can see why people might, but I can also see why you wouldn't (I'm probably leaning towards the "no" side just because I'd like the versatility).
Mine are soldered together, we actually sent them in to be soldered about a week before the wedding, so I've never worm my wedding band alone. mine is similar to Kiz's except the e-ring also has channel set diamonds on it, it would bug the tar out of me to not have them even all the time.
Also, I never knew ML was such a mpls/st paul hotspot.
Me too. I've toyed with the idea of adding a matching band on the other side of my ring (soldered together, natch!) but I can think of a million other things I'd rather spend $1200 on! And even though I have long fingers it might get a little thick...
It's funny how divided people are. They either LOVE or HATE to have their rings spin. It seems there are no middle-of-the-roaders on this one! Interesante. :-)
Nope. My e-ring and wedding band came together as a set, but I still didn't want them soldered together. I like being able to wear my wedding band alone sometimes.
I really think it is just a personal preference.
