At Summer's Request!

This morning I was watching tv and a LUVs diaper commercial came on and I found it seriously disturbing. It had little cartoon babies doing some sort of fasion show thing then they turn around and their diaper expands and the judges give them scores. At the end the campaign was that loves protects against "blow-outs". This may be cute to someone but I was left staring at the screen thinking WTF.

okay, you ladies are getting to my dreams now. I had a baby dream last night. I dreamt I was pregnant and DH didn't want the baby. It was horrible b/c I did, and we were breaking up because of it. REALLY Weird! Especially since he wanted kids since we were married, and I want to wait another year.

So I'm the nerd that listens to NPR on the way to work. They have done over 1,000 interviews with the families of people who died on 9/11. They were replaying a few. I cried most of the way to work. This lady said that her husband called her on 9/11 and said that he was on the 115th (or so) floor of one of the twin towers. He couldn't find a way out and the stairwell was full of smoke. He talked to her until, well, until he couldn't talk anymore. They were in their 50s, but were high school sweethearts that started dating when they were 16.

Oh my gosh that would be sooooooo hard! How sad. At least they got to say goodbye to each other.

OMG, that just breaks my heart. I would have been a wreck listening to stories like that.

That's because she is my TTC buddy and we know that means she is not broken. :P

I made a new sig last night because I missed having one and didn't want to put a pic of us up - trying for some sort of slight anonymity. My DH came in while I was taking a picture of the frosting and asked me if it was "for my Nest people." I told him yes and he laughed.

*Lacey - I probably would have cried too. I got major goosebumps just reading what you wrote.

A day late or so, but I just wanted to say I finally watched The Voice! I thought it was really good. Can't wait to see what's next!

Oh ya, can I tell y'all excited I am about getting my driver's side window fixed??!! It's been a year or more since I've had a working window! I'm so happy, just wasn't thrilled about the bill.

I get the same way around Father's Day. What would have been my dad's 50th birthday was last week and DH and I got into a petty fight in which I turned into an emotion monster, so I feel you. *Hugs*

Lacey - I saw the Smithsonian exhibit of the 9/11 artifacts at the FW Museum of Science and History and I cried for days at the drop of a hat. Those calls would kill me.

At my 8to5, we watch CNBC ALL DAY LONG. They were just now discussing Obama traveling to Ground Zero on Air Force One.

Every time I hear Air Force One, I think of basketball shoes and rap songs!

I started coupoining again after watching this show. We saved $46 on $150 this week, which isn't $600 for $0.32, but still isn't too bad for me. Since I will become a SAHM when we have a baby, DH and I are trying out just living on his salary and putting mine in savings. The coupons help!

Regarding the people on the show though - I kind of think they are like clean hoarders. No one needs 576 tubes of toothpaste. No one.

I can't watch or listen to a whole lot of 9/11 stuff. I get pretty emotional too. I heard a similar phone message where the person just kept talking to their home answering machine. And the head of one of the big investment houses who lost like 90% of his staff but he wasn't down there because he was taking his daughter to the first day of kindergarten? Yeah, I cried then too. And have you seen the "Flight 93" movie that they put out? I kept wanting to scream at the people while they were waiting at the terminal "Don't get on the plane!!!". Stupid, huh? And also, "Remember Me" had me bawling like a baby.

I completely agree with Leslie about the toothpaste. The guy I saw the other night had over 1,000 tubes of toothpaste. I do think it's about control/hoarding. However, on a good note, he was collecting a lot of things to put together care packages for the soldiers overseas. I was happy about that.
