Re: SA Wednesday
I was just talking to Bill about working out this summer. I have decided that I am going to try two hours a day this summer. It will take up some of my time and hopefully, it will have some positive effects on my life. I handled one hour no problem, never got tired earlier this week. I think the tiredness will be worth it for a while. I'm also hoping this means that I can go to some of those morning classes at LA Fitness.
I HATE Math! This is embarrasing but I have attempted College Algebra twice before and had to drop due to being completely lost. I was able to squeak through statistics, but still need one more math credit. Luckilly UTA has started offering a College Algebra for liberal arts majors that focuses more on the theory than the actual numbers.
I have taken Business Math but for some reason TAMU-Commerce won't let me use it for my Math credit for my Business Degree. I know have to take College Algebra. Luckily DH has a Minor in Math and is about to start is Masters in Math. He knows how to "dumb it down" for me so I understand. Hoping I can pass without any big issues!
I was the same way with math. I had to take the remedial math before I could even take college algebra. For some reason I decided to try and attempt calculus one semester (for a major i was originally going to do)....and that did not turn out so well. I was just completely lost.

Leslie - not push at all, thank you for the info!
Brianna - I also had no idea you were taking classes.
Dana - Are you working on your masters? Sorry, I can't remember. My BLaw class kicked my butt.
Leslie (again) - I'm pretty good at math and I struggled through College Algebra. Once you move on from Algebra in HS (Calculus, etc.), it's really hard to go back to it. IMO.

Awesome! More details, please. Which school, major, etc.
Yes, details! Brianna has been all incognito on us!
What did he do now?

Haha, sorry...
No, I'm actually getting my bachelor's. Well, associates then bachelors. I have enough credits for an associates in business, but I'm going to take a few more classes to fit what I do now. So, I'm getting an associates in Medical Staff Services and a bachelors in Business.
I go to TCC for now but I will start taking classes for the associates at Dallas Comm College.

Good luck on the finals, ladies!
I also did not know you were in school, Brianna.
I am on page 89 of our book club book. FAIL. I do plan on finishing it though, somehow. I requested the audio version for my computer so I could listen at work but apparently only 1 person can check it out at a time.
I am still a tad sore but I am actually enjoying the workout videos I have been doing. Not the push ups though so I do what I can. They don't seem as daunting as they did last time but I am a day behind because I could not move much at all on Monday.
I'm still burning up at night.
I finally got my package from amazon that I've been waiting for like 2 weeks. "You'll receive your order in 5-7 days" I don't think so. The soap I ordered opened so it was over the bottles and bag. But my 'get relaxed' tea is here just in time for our visit this weekend.
I was going to make a post about this to solicit advice, but in the interest of it being buried in SA and not out for anyone to see --
My cousin is graduating college this Friday. I am torn on a gift. We are close and have grown up together -- but lately, geez...
She was one of my BM's for my wedding and bought me an $8 gift not on my registry that I ended up returning to BBB for store credit. She caused nothing but drama with the other BMs about having to pay for things (stuff like splitting finger food costs for the shower!) and then threw fits to me about being left out when they went ahead with the planning without her.
I threw her an engagement party when she got engaged (for a now broken engagement) and she didn't thank me, she opened the envelopes of cash from the party and spent them at the bar that night.
I made her birthday cake and told her it was her gift (the thing cost me $40 in ingredients alone) and she got snotty with me.
Her party is this weekend at a restaurant where everyone is expected to pay for their own meals/drinks. She asked for another cake but after the last one I told her I was busy with finals. She made no bones about the fact she expects cash and lots of it from people for graduation...
So is it wrong if I just give her $20 and a card?
Yep, I don't like your BIL either. I can't wait to take my place in line. :-)
No seriously, sorry you have to put up with that kind of attitude.
#1 - I have the Audible version of the book. If you can figure out how I can get you the files I can send them to you.
#2 - What work out are you doing?
Absolutely not. I would do the same thing; her present would get smaller and smaller if she kept the attitude up.
I would not have a clue how to figure out #1. Thanks though!
I am doing Chalean, not sure which one though.
I think with that kind of attitude and rudeness, she would be lucky if I gave her $20. I think the perfect gift in this situation is a book on Etiquette.
Book Club: I have yet to start the book. But, I will be ready! I promise!
You are a smart one, Lacey!
I think the $20 is probably more than what I would give her after that attitude!
Anna - I'm sorry about your BIL:( when DH told me more about how his siblings treated him growing up it made me so mad.
Bio Good Times
No - I was pre-med for the LONGEST time though and still may be. After preparing for med school for years and taking the MCAT, I recently decided to change my career path and become a registered dietitian instead. It's just where my heart is. I hope to do research related to eating disorders as well.
For right now I'm a student. Trying to finish my degree!!! I can't wait to be done.
I'll be at Richland for one class this summer! As much as I love going to UT Dallas, I did enjoy my time at DCCCD. I hope you like it too!
Perfect gift! I don't even know if I'd get her a $20 gift card. DH's friend's wife is kinda like this and for their wedding she registered for way over priced items that I refused to buy since no one was invited to the wedding and the only reason she had a reception was to get gifts. I went to B&BW and bought the 5 for $30 deal. I bought her lotion and a body splash and then kept the other 3 things as gifts for myself. It may be selfish but it made up for having to buy our dinner at their "reception"!
Tiffany and Lauren, thanks, and I know it could be much worse. I figure, if he's the worst thing about my in-laws, it's not so bad. I just need to vent here or else someday I won't be able to hold my tongue!
Leslie - Honestly, if it was me, I'd probably just get her a card. I could be wrong, but I don't feel like a graduation is an occasion where you're obligated to bring a gift.
A. I just had a piece of cake (horrible, I know) and I feel like I could be in a sugar coma in a bit.
B. I'm really tired of witnessing my cube mate playing kiss ass to our old boss. It makes me want to puke. I'm having a hard time not saying anything.
