Re: New here - intro :)
Hey Amelia!
I lurked for a bit... on and off before I decided to jump in. I def scrolled down to the locked post, because I'm nosy. I'm not an initiator really, but I'm not going to lie - when suffering from middle of the week boredom, I'm a sucker for watching drama unfold from afar. lol.
Thanks for the welcome!
Hi Kristin! Thanks for the warm welcome and sweet compliment. Your sig pics are beautiful! Pregnancy suits you well
You might have said it before, but have you decided on a name for your son?
No, it's fine! I'm from around the Binghamton area. What about you??
That is awesome - when will you be moving into the new place? I bet you are so excited! Congratulations
I've always envied people who are talented at photography - I don't have an eye for it at all but love to see what other people do. That's great that you get to do it as a hobby for now - lots of practice, and with your son, you'll love having so many nice pictures of him as he grows up! (On a side note, have you seen the blog "Enjoying the Small Things" (kellehampton.com)? I found it through a post on TN actually. She I guess really developed in her photography after having her 2 girls, and I love looking at all of her photos
Also very cool about the print shop, I bet the wedding stuff will keep you pretty busy throughout the summer!
Nah.... you're the meanest of the bunch.

Ha! Boys names seem like they would be hard for some reason. Congratulations!
Oh, and ugh - I had your name right in front of me and I spelled it wrong! Sorry about that. I just typed to a Kristin shortly ago and must have mixed your name up with hers...
Thanks!
Hey Vanessa!
Nice - between both of your careers and living in Chicago (and your expecting friends!), it sounds exciting! When you end up purchasing your home, do you plan to stay in the area you're in now?
Nice to meet you - thanks for the sweet compliment!
MB... Ha - suurrrre, oh disher of the c-word! lol - just kidding.
Glad I'm not the only one!
Hey, just callin' 'em as I see 'em. Keepin' it real.

Welcome!
My name is Susan and I'm 27. My H is Andy and he is 30. We got married on 9/26. We live just outside of Madison, WI in a very tiny town. We love it! We have two fur children- Cleo and Cooper. They are both rescue cats and are very. very spoiled.
My hobbies include gardening (or trying to anyway), home improvements, cross stitch, reading, golf (learning!) and zumba.
I don't post too much because TN is blocked at work and I don't like posting from my phone
Get in line.

Binghamton? Seriously?! That officially makes you the Niner that is closest to me. I'm currently living in Oneonta and go shopping in Bing all the time as one of my best friends lives there. The new house is in my hometown about 30 minutes northeast of O-town.
I have not seen her blog, but I will bookmark it and check it out. The print shop is just now getting into custom wedding stuff. They had only done invitations from these books that are from the early 90's and really outdated. My dad just bought the business back in August so he's been implimenting some changes as money/time allows. Right now I'm donating my time to help them get into it so far there isn't a ton of business but we're promoting and trying to bring in more which will be great once it gets started.
What kind of design work do you do? Just various signs or do you do other stuff on the side as well? What program do you use? I do most of my stuff in Photoshop becuase I know it like the back of my hand and Illustrator makes me angry. I need to upgrade my programs though becuase my InDesgin is corrupt for some reason and I'm still working out of the original CS.
Yeah! I live about 20 min. away from Binghamton. It was voted the 3rd most depressing city in the US - yay for us! lol. I haven't really spend time in Oneonta; the closest I've gotten is Delhi (my sister went to school there and I visited there all the time). That is too funny!
Good for you with getting involved with the shop. It sounds like it definitely hit its plateau, so that's great that your dad was able to start bringing it back up to date. Since it's been around for awhile but is going through changes, I'm sure that will spark some curiosity in the area and get the ball rolling! Do you have any local competition in the area to worry about?
I do mostly business cards, brochures, stationary, signs... things like that. I also do websites from time to time and artwork when I can, but printed media seems to be the most common thing for me and the easiest way to make money. I have an Etsy shop as an outlet to sell more customized artwork. See, I can NOT use Photoshop, for the same reasons you don't like to use Illustrator! Haha. I desperately cling to Illustrator whenever I can, and when I need it, I use Ps. Why can you not undo more than twice using a hot key!? It turns me into the Hulk! That stinks about your indesign being corrupt, how weird...
Hi Susan!
Aww, our cats are rescue kitties too... I have a soft spot for them
All of your hobbies sound like lots of fun. Thanks for the nice welcome!
Hi!
My name is Leslie and I am 24, my H is Jon (23) and we got married on 9/5. We live in WI with our puppy girl Layla (the cutie in my sig). I like to take photos, chug mt. dew like its going out of style, and about a million other things lol.
Welcome to the niners!!
Happens all the time....usually I get the "en."
Welcome.
I'm Meghan (28) married to Tyson (32). We got married on 9/19/09. We're kind of the unusual medical career people of the board, as I'm a registered nurse in a busy ER and my husband is a firefighter/paramedic. We live in OH with our two dogs, Tasha (white husky) and Sophie (yellow lab).
This is a great group of ladies, and I hope you enjoy getting to know everyone.
Congrats to both my TTC buddies, Amberley18 and sb2006 on their beautiful babies!
The pen tool turns me into the Hulk! lol. My H's family lives in Delhi so we're there every other weekend or so and my sister is currently going to Delhi. It's really such a small world.
The print shop has been around for 100 years and the owner before my dad had it for at least 20 years because that's how long my dad worked there before buying it. It definitely needs some updates. They didn't really do anything custom at all when it came to wedding stuff and it's all about customization in the wedding industry. The big thing right now is they really need to update the website, but I don't have any skills when it comes to websites and my dad doesn't want to pay someone to make one right now. I think we'll be able to bring in a lot more business if we launch a new website that is more user friendly and actually shows what services are offered. The current website was made by the previous owner and it's truly an embarrassment. We did start a facebook page but I need to upload the new design stuff to it still (things got crazy once Alex was born!)
ok, ok, I guess I'll have to do an intro too. I'm Lindsay (aka Nooner, don't ask), I'm 28, my husband Scott and I got married in Breckenridge, CO on 9/19/09. We have two dogs, Diesel (2yo rottweiller/gernam shepherd mix) and Ellie (a 5 yo Blue Heeler Mix), and we're BNOTBers.
I'm also the resident therapist on the board (Mel sometimes too), as I run a mental health and substance abuse treatment program for female offenders in a women's halfway house. Oh, and I earned the Board Wife title for my rockstar food blog *points down to siggy*. See guys, I told you I wasn't that modest. I'm a rockstar and I know it!
(I feel like I should add a hairflip in there...)
oh, and if I'm not in session, I usually jump into most arguements on here. I like to argue when I know I'm right.
haha, so welcome!!! I hope you know what you're getting yourself into. We get a little fiesty around here.
Hi !
I'm Angela (almost 31) and my H is Jay (32). I just sometimes call him J on here b/c I'm lazy
. I'm an accountant and analyst and J is an IT guy. We live up in MA. We were married on 9/5 and have been together almost 5 years now. We have 2 rescue dogs. Winston is a hound mix ( beagle/greyhound) who we rescued from St. Croix ( US Virgin Islands) when he was 6 weeks old. He is very fresh but also the most loyal dog ever. He likes to bark at people on bikes, other dogs, and random inanimate objects. The last trainer told us he is a jerk b/c of how he laughs after he barks at people/stuff
. Thankfully, no one takes him seriously b/c they can tell that he's not barking in a malicious manner (never growls or shows his teeth). Most people actually laugh at him. Chloe is a chihuahua who we rescued from a local shelter. She is the sweetest little cuddle bug and was sent to the shelter b/c of a hoarding situation. Both doggies will be turning 4 this year. The pic as my avatar is not either of my dogs. It is the dog that J wants to get once we get a house. We currently own a condo and I think our neighbors would think we are nuts if we have 3
, so that one has to wait. He wants a dachshund so that he can name him Frank. I am currently pregnant and TTC history is in my siggy. What else? Oh, my strong points are math & science (see occupation above) but was always horrible at spelling/grammer. I tend to write in run-on sentances but I have been trying to get better at that.
Dx: Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism After 2 years TTC & failed IUs,we have our IVF baby born 9/24/11
LO#2 aka 'Miracle Baby' Orig. EDD= 9/28 EDD moved to 10/3/13

Hey! Welcome to the board! I'm Riss, from the Hudson Valley area of NY. My husband Michael and I have been together for 12 years - we were sort of high school sweethearts but we didn't start dating until college. I'm in financial reporting, Michael is a writer - so I'm numbers and he's words
We have an adorable cat named Meg who is so snuggly and a huge dork. I love chocolate and music.
| cute shoes make me happy |
I'm Jill. I'm 26. I'm from the Boston area. Married to Doug, age 28, on 9/6 (which was our 8 year anniversary).
No pets. No children. Maybe some day to both - but right now we're both looking to go back to school.
Bought my Grandparents house last September and it's been the most awesomely obnoxious thing I've ever done in my entire life.
Welcome. I'm Stees (26) and my husband is Andy (31). We own a 3 BR house in Harrisburg. No kids for us, but we do have an adorable niece.
We are both biologists. I spend a lot of time in the office, but in the summer I spend a lot of time in the field surveying for turtles, bats, eagles, snakes, rats, and various other things. Its a lot of fun
Andy's passions are hunting and fishing, which consumes his time pretty much 8 months of the year
My passions are cooking, reading, and wine. We love a good wine tour or wine festival.
Is Julia Mild something witty, or are you actually a foodie?
What boards have you frequented before this?
We havent had a newbie in a LONG time, so we all know each other pretty well. If theres something we are discussing that you dont understand, just ask!
Late to the party, but I'm going to play anyway
)
I'm Beth (I'll be 30 next month) and I'm married to Jonathan (37) and we live in a 3 bedroom townhouse style condo about 15 minutes outside of Boston.
Jon used to be my boss's boss which is where we met but now he's a VP at a debt collection company and I'm at the same place, which is a publishing and conferences company.
We love to travel, drink wine, theatre, we both read a lot...nothing too exciting I guess.
Anyway, welcome!
